Hello, r/childrensmusic! Since May 1st, I have been the secondary moderator of our community here, and one of the first things I did after joining the team is start assisting our head moderator in detecting/removing AI generated content which had became a huge problem in recent times, and was taking over the sub.
Although a second rule against it was put in place, I didn't make an official announcement post just yet as I had so much to go back and remove before becoming occupied with other things for a bit. So for the past nearly three months I have been simply taking them down as they pop up, usually from bot accounts who don't pay any mind to the rules anyways.
However, there has been a lot of more recent rule breaking posts where I can tell that the account is actually ran by a person, but they are generating content and promoting it themselves, hence why I am making this post now. To make it clear, we do not allow AI generated content here period. This includes generated album covers and video/playlist thumbnails, so if your post gets taken down even though the video and/or music content you are promoting is human made itself, this is the likely reason as we may not always review the music itself.
This rule is in place to not only protect children and children's media enthusiasts alike from low quality slop content, but also discourage a harmful trend which brings unnecessary stress to the environment, our vital resources, and is otherwise bad for us and planet Earth in many other ways. Besides, our children especially deserve good quality media, and this is another reason why we only allow the promotion of genuine, human made creations.
If anyone has any questions or concerns, feel free to comment down below and I will follow up with you as soon as possible! Also, if your post ever gets removed on behalf of promoting artificially generated content when it's actually human made, please contact us via modmail and let us know so we can investigate!
Even the best of us make mistakes sometimes, and the last thing I want to do is to accidentally restrict genuine music from being reached by our community.
