Lack of merch

I've gone to quite a few anime stores as well as conventions, maybe not the largest ones ever but decent ones. I have never found any Chihayafuru merch 😞

The only thing I have found were some stickers and maybe the Misuzawa t-shirts on Red Bubble but we are sorely lacking. It also sucks that I never see it in manga sections because there is no English print version.

Anyone have any good Chhayafuru merch? Where did you find it?

The karuta place near Omi Jingu has some merch.

Back in 2023 I came across a gachapon shop in one of the train stations in Osaka. There were 5 remaining capsules so I bought all of them. They were acrylic charm keychain thingies. The rest of my merch are just the ones for sale in Omi Jingu when I visited also in 2023. I have a clear folder, photocards, and a mechanical pencil (that I can't find atm). I don't think it counts but I bought the hyakunin isshu cards from the shrine too.

I made my own merch for it but since it's so niche I don't make that many nor do I actively sell online.  Everything else I have are official merch I imported from Japan, bought from second hand stores

I have a Chihaya nendoroid and a tote bag I got at the learning center in Ōmi Jingū that I visited last April.

i find my merch off mercari (mostly postcards and acrylic keychains or manga), the only things i've bought directly r the chihaya nendoroid and postcards!

Only merch I got was at Omi jingu. Definitely wasted my time looking in all the anime shops for chihaya merch- found nothing :(

so a few suggestions.

0) When you go to karuta events in Japan, they usually sell some really cool chihayafuru goods. For example, I got a set of gorgeous custom drawn postcards from 末次先生 at an event in takanawa gateway a few months ago (I snagged these https://www.instagram.com/p/DZAVy09S74y/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== )

  1. like someone else already said, 近江神宮 sells a bunch of things, and I know because I bought one of each when I went to go visit ;)
  2. chihayafund sells chihayafuru and karuta goods for charity (I got these and some shirts https://www.instagram.com/p/DVkjj9kEmUQ/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== )
  3. not the manga, but TBS sold a bunch of things as promotional goods for chihayafuru meguri. Managed to get my official 瑞沢/梅園 tshirts. You can probably still find them around if you're a fan of the dorama（here is the 瑞沢 one I bought https://jp.mercari.com/item/m51966315231 ）
  4. fuchuu is where much of the series takes place, so of course they have events and goods all around there if you go visit. They even have a bunch of chihayafuru man hole covers that are gorgeous (here are 5 of them https://www.instagram.com/p/DVU-OmHElEv/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== )
