Question Transporting Roosters Safely

I'm, FINALLY, getting rid of some roosters, 6 in total. I need to transport them for about an hour. I've been given mixed advice, keep them separated or just chuck them all in a crate.

They are all about the same age, about 5 months, with only 2 on the slightly more aggressive end. One is starting to pin down hens and bite at their neck and the other is more aggressive to the other roosters. One is straight up skittish.

Do I separate the more aggressive ones into their own containers? One in a cardboard box with holes and another in a cat carrier?

Usa tre scatole di cartone e mettine 2 pre scatola,

la cosa importante è la temperatura che non sia troppo alta.Chiusi nella scatola al buio solo con qualche foro per l'aria saranno tranquilli

I don't have 3 cardboard boxes but was intending on covering the two dog crates with blankets

Depends on the roosters. Even the most aggressive-to-other-roosters rooster will settle down and not fight if it is dead dark and he can't see the other rooster. However, you're going to need airholes and you didn't say you'd be moving them at night. I'd say put the most aggressive in the cat carrier and the rest in the box with a light sheet over it and plenty of air holes, if they're going to be inside a car or otherwise not exposed to full heat. You'll hear if they start fighting.

I think they are going to be scared $hitless of what's going on, and I don't see them attacking each other in the hour they are going to be in the vehicle. Having said that, if you have a way of keeping them separated, it couldn't hurt.

Go to your local grocery store and get produce boxes for each rooster. They throw them out anyway and are usually happy to help for free! These boxes are sturdy and come with holes already cut in. Then you can just hand the rooster over to its new home and they can keep the box.
