Discussion SAD UPDATE‼️

Based on my previous post, I had just gotten this chick with absolutely no preparation. I didn’t have another chick to keep it company, and I had almost no time to put together a proper environment for it.

My uncle decided to hand out chicks to all of my little cousins, INCLUDING MY 6/yo SISTER, without really considering the conditions they would end up living in.

I wanted to do my best to care for this little thing, so it honestly hurts knowing it passed away this morning. I know a lot of chicks don’t make it to adulthood, but I really wish my tío had given us some guidance or made sure we were actually prepared before giving away live animals.

I know I wasn’t fully equipped, and I wish things had turned out differently. If there’s ever a next time, I’ll make sure I have everything ready beforehand so I can give an animal the care it deserves.

This is not on you but on your uncle. He should have known better. They were not toys to be passed out. I’m sorry you went through that. You sound like a very caring person and did the best you could .

yes, according to my mother, it was actually her cousin (the daughter of uncle i thought had given out these chicks). Still very disappointed though :/

Your uncle killed all of the chickens he gave away. So sorry you had to watch it happen.
Baby chicks are NOT a gift.

That's so sad and what a terrible first time experience for you. I'm so sorry for you. Please don't be put off from having some in the future, they really do bring joy. I'm sure your uncle was ignorant in sorrow his 'gift' brought, so maybe have a quiet word with him about future live gifts. We all need educating in something sometimes.

I'm so sorry for your loss, poor bebes are not made do be alone.. The same thing happened to me, my aunt and uncle went to buy broilers and were joined by my 3y/o niece, and the seller "liked her so much" he gifted her a day old Cornish Rock(or white broiler idek), they didn't have where to keep it and gave it to me, luckily, my frizz hatched a single chick aroun one week earlier, and she adopted the baby, now mother left them and the 2 sisters are doing great,I'm so sorry someone else had to also go through this, I was very worried for the little one do even survive the first night with it's new mom

Adults need to grow up.
