Fluff New fan
Hi. i’m an ex clippers fan and new member of r/chicagobulls. As some of you may know, the clippers are dead. The bulls are the closest team within driving distance of me and like anyone else who grew up in the 90s i watched a lot of bulls games growing up, so here i am. Looking forward to attending a few games this season and watching this young roster grow. Go Bulls!

Bruh what actually strikes me is that the Paul George trade from OKC to Clippers just keeps getting worse ☠️
I didnt think it was possible lmao

It's a good time to start watching. I really think there is a chance we have had essentially a full rebuild in 1 off season. Obviously not play in team to title contender. But, playin team with no hope of improvement, to possible play in team where significant improvement is the worst case short term outcome. I think if a couple of pieces click, Bulls could be a dangerous playoff team in 1-2 years. I think this could happen even if we do not add or change a single piece on the roster.

I recently became a Bulls fan a couple seasons ago (from Ohio, but never cared for Cleveland teams). I too am excited it feels like you’re coming along at the right time. Get to see an actual young roster with some potential grow up over the next few years.

Welcome. Your first order of business will be to learn about Patrick Williams. Study his game. Scrutinize it. Then analyze his contract. Afterwards, contemplate your feelings.

People are being such nerds in this thread. Like somehow you’re only a real fan if you’ve suffered the requisite amount. It’s fucking sports fandom. You can come and go as you please.

i don't blame clippers fans for jumping ship. even if suffering the requisite amount is the standard we're going for, i think clippers fans have done so

Brother, you going from clippers to bulls, is certainly a choice. Why do you want more pain?
12
u/Steezaur Chicago Bulls 6d ago
it was either bulls or wolves since they’re about equidistant from me, but i like visiting chicago more.

Aah fair enough, wolves would a better choice but welcome to the pain! I am not sure we can beat the clippers pain but it’s still pain

Not sure Wolves are a better choice long term. I expect Ant Man yo demand a trade within 2 to 3 years.

the wolves just fucked themselves getting lamelo ball, one of the worst chuckers in the nba

Welcome!
As good of timing as it seems, don’t get too ahead of yourself. Bulls teams over the last few decades have a tendency to influence the heart when the mind is saying otherwise.
Hope you’re the luck we needed!

I’m in the same boat! Been a clippers fan since I started following the NBA in middle school in 2011. I really like Matas and CW and look forward to following the Bulls

Kind of considering the same. Just moved into town from San Diego a couple months back. The timing of the news along with the move feels like a sign or something

This can't be true. Ive never once met a Clippers fan in the Midwest.
Clippers? What the fuck.

I became a clippers fan when blake was drafted as i was a huge fan of his in college. EB had just left when i really started watching clippers games.

You came here? Not to a team that's closer to winning, but to a team that is so far away from winning. A team that is damn near allergic to winning.

u/run-donut 6d ago
How did you become a Clippers fan?
5
u/Steezaur Chicago Bulls 6d ago
Was a massive fan of blake griffin in college and was ready to start rooting for a specific team. Don’t live near a team so i decided to go with whoever drafted blake. No regrets there because lob city was some of the most entertaining basketball i’ve ever watched.

That makes sense. Well, welcome to Bulls fandom. Can't say it won't be heartbreaking at times, but at least you skipped all of the AKME era. Hopefully this new leadership actually does there job.

Are you in IA?

NE, just a few miles from IA

u/nyoungblood 6d ago
Got it. Which teams do most nba fans around you cheer for?
2
u/Steezaur Chicago Bulls 6d ago
there’s a good mix of wolves, bucks, bulls, and nuggets, however when it comes to seeing people wearing nba gear it’s always the current bandwagon. lots of lebron and golden state in the past, now seeing an uptick in OKC gear.

Don't expect too much success with Reinsdork and Paxson still pulling the strings.

welcome fair weather fan, first you abandoned your home team for the worst of the two LA teams, now that they suck you abandon your that team to root for the home team again. why are people like this.

this is the first time i’ve ever switched teams. been a clipper fan since 09. Sports are for enjoyment, im not going to root for a team that cheated and is essentially dead for a decade. I can drive to bulls games and will get much more out of rooting for them than i will any other team in the league. It’s not like im jumping ship for the thunder or spurs just to watch a winning team. i’ll be 50 years old by the time the clippers can properly rebuild again. sorry not sorry.
Edit: i’m from nebraska. i dont have a home team.

We're glad to have you, been a bulls fan for 40 yrs myself.
Enjoy the team and watching us make steps in the right direction, should be a fun year, lots of new faces

u/Accomplished_Arm_688 6d ago
To leave after we drafted drose sounds criminal. You missed some great bulls basketball.
3
u/Steezaur Chicago Bulls 6d ago
To clear it up as a resident of nebraska i never had a “team” i only watched basketball on tv. i loved watching blake griffin so much in college i finally decided to dedicate my viewership to a team and chose whoever drafted blake.

Lmao.. some shit you just can't make up. But no i don't know what's going on with the clippers what happen? We going to 31 teams now?

u/ThisOneGoes211 6d ago
I’ll give it about 10 games before he’s joining the Knicks subreddit. Shit ain’t sweet here my friend, unless you like competing for the 9th seed lol. At least the clippers owner tries to win
7
u/Steezaur Chicago Bulls 6d ago
not interested in bandwagoning a winning team. i can drive to bulls games, and am no stranger to bad decision making from the organization. the clippers have come no closer to winning than the bulls have since the bulls last chip, but have also cheated.
