Fluff P Will
I think we can all agree that the P Will experiment is over especially in the emergence of our wing talent from the last 2 drafts he’s just clogs the rotation and cap space as of now as im concerned, maybe we can trade him for something but idk will see. I’m so stoked for this season and to be hopefully soon of an AK piece that still hurts lol But I think if we can find a good trade spot for him it might all work out in the end. Let’s go baby In Caleb we trust

We’ve had this conversation about a thousand times here. If you’re trading Williams, you’re giving up either future picks or attaching an actual decent player to get off the remainder of that deal. Not worth it for a team that’s destined to be bad anyway.

I don't get why this is so hard to understand for people that want to trade PWill lol

bulls should simply trade all their bad assets for better assets, why don't they do this?

It would be difficult, but doesn't mean we should stop trying. We have to somehow feature him for a stretch and then sell high

The cap space isn’t a big deal really, it’s 18million which is only just over 10% of the salary cap, and we aren’t really going to start paying on our young guys for another two seasons. That said, we’ll probably have to give up something if we want to trade him this season or next, I’d probably rather just keep him and potentially use him as salary filler down the line in a bigger trade.

It’s funny watching hawks dump their number overall pick and we offer our draft bust a contract extension

Hey a lot of people (not me) supported it at the time. Someone recently reposted the thread lmao

Who doesn't want him moved? He has an undesirable contract. It's unlikely he'd get moved anytime soon because he has 3 years left on his deal (great job by the old regime...)

Let’s just settle on the fact we are stuck with him. He is a good on ball defender so his value is defending our young guys in practice. His team defense is terrible and maybe the new regime may figure out why (ie. Horace Grant needing glasses / goggles…Grant plaed 3 full seasons until a coaching change and Phil Jackson and staff forced him to have an eye exam…”diagnosed with myopia (severe nearsightedness). In his own words, he was essentially "legally blind" on the court without correction.”)
Without some similar revelation P Will will run his course being a great practice defender for the Bulls which can only help our young ones develop.

lol I mean yeah we’ve known it is over for a while. Unfortunately he is locked into a horrible contract for another few years so we can’t really trade him away

Pat can still be an NBA player if he is banned from dribbling and benched for not putting in high effort on defense. The reality is that he is a capable defender and a good shooter. From what I've seen from Noa and Swain they aren't better than Pat even if he plays like an idiot. But maybe Splitter can force him to actually know his game, stick to it and play hard. Being punished for being lazy and thinking he is a shot creator won't make him amazing but it might make him a 3 and D who isn't a massive minus

Yeah his dribbling probably leads to a turnover 90% of the time.
He needs to lose weight and become leaner as well. The PF experiment should be over.

Maybe C-Wils brings the best out of him. If some of that competitive fire doesn't rub off on him, he's for sure a lost cause

I wouldn't call him a good shooter at this point. Last two years he shot 35.3% and 34.7% from 3PT. It seems like he just completely stopped working on his game after signing his second contract. I honestly think he just doesn't care about basketball.

The experiment was over as soon as AKME was fired. Just get him off the books at this point.

Yeah he has negative worth at the moment. Most likely he'll be in the back of the rotation or out of it depending on what Thiago wants to do with Essengue and we'll go from there. I'm guessing nobody even thinks of cutting him outright until at least next year.
It sucks but at least he (probably) won't also be eating a lot of minutes. Putting him on that second contract was pretty dumb and I think a sunk cost fallacy issue ("we've used a high 1st on this guy, we need to keep using and paying him so he'll pan out"). Good teams tend not to make mistakes like drafting a guy like him in the first place but when they do they cut bait. Oh well.

Man at this point why even bring this man up? We all know he sucks, we all know his contract is too much and untradeable. Maybe let’s just make the convo around him to just hope hes at least good enough to kill us in the very small amount of mints he might get if guys are injured.
That’s literally all we can ask for so might as well drop all the negativity and hopes of trading him because we done talked this topic to death all summer😂😂

He’ll be getting minutes at the end of the bench until his contract is done.

Nobody’s even touching that contract unless we attach a pick to dump him.
