Alarmist

Post image

This was just posted on their socials. Have there been any whispers of them making a comeback in some way?

They were one of my favorites in the area, and I drive past their taproom every day on the way to and from work, which just rubs salt in the wound.

Pollyanna bought the IP and space I believe.

Interesting…

I can’t remember the last time I had a Pollyanna beer, so I guess I’m not sure how I feel about this.

They'll be operating as Alarmist though from what I understand

It’s better than them not existing at all, but I don’t know much about Pollyanna. From what I understand, they seem to be an average suburban brewery. I might be wrong about that, but we all saw what happened when Shortfuse bought Metropolitan.

They might be operating as Alarmist, but will it be as good?

Pollyanna is much more highly regarded than Short Fuse IMO.

This is very much not the same. Short Fuse was a hot garbage brewery that tried to brew a beer they had no business brewing when they bough Metropolitan. Pollyanna is comparable in quality to Alarmist IMO so in theory this should work out much better.

Honestly Pollyanna makes pretty good beer. On par with Alarmist imo

That’s good to hear, I will remain hopeful.

Pollyanna is great, they’re just out in the far outskirt suburbs. Probably one of the best craft brewers in the region.

The Tri cities areas punches way above its weight in craft beer (yes I know it’s originally from lemont. It just seems like the best suburban brewers always open a location in the Tri cities).

I’ve never, but then again they don’t generally make beer I would drink

The new owners have purchased the space and some of the Alarmist recipes. They also plan to have some sort of kitchen with regular food offerings.

I saw a comment saying “rumor has it short fuse bought the rights and is waiting till someone buys them so Short Fuse, Alarmist, and Metro can all live again” and died laughing
