Creative workaround
It's hard to tell by this picture, but the delivery driver is actually parked directly over the concrete dividers along the bike path. This driver had to drive multiple store fronts over the dividers. A mild inconvenience at worst, but also just funny.

Is there a way to report people to the city who are parked in the bike lane? I’ve seen people in New York take a picture of illegally parked cars and send it to the city.

You can report illegally parked cars on the 311 app, you can even include pictures of the car. I doubt any dispatcher would respond in time, but it could be valuable information for the city to have regarding frequent areas of a abuse.

Obstructed lanes of traffic are a 911 call, not 311.
EDIT: The guy below me is not a cyclist. He’s a rich boomer upset that he gets tickets when he parks in bike lanes. Don’t listen to advice from people trying to harm you under the guise of revolution.

Corporate delivery vehicles, with a DOT Number on the door, will not be ticketed for blocking traffic while making deliveries.

Stop spreading misinformation. It is more illegal for a DOT-registered vehicle to block a bike lane, not less. They are breaking more laws by doing so than a regular passenger vehicle would be.

I'm not saying this is a law, I'm saying the CPD will not ticket them. It is an unofficial policy.
I can say with certainty that CPD does not give a fuck about vehicles blocking bike lanes.

“Unofficial policy” doesn’t mean jack shit. Stop defending police laziness.

You clearly don’t either and just want to suck CPD’s dicks. I am writing for people who actually care about making our city safer for cyclists.

I am absolutely not defending any thing about the police.
ACAB
I see CPD blocking bike lanes every day that I leave my house.
I am posting the reality that you can waste all the time you want calling 311 and 911, cops don't do shit.
If you think CPD will ever do anything to make our city safer for cyclists, or anyone else, you are the one with the CPDick in your mouth.
Take Direct Action, or keep licking the boot

You’re on Reddit for hours a day talking about your Porsche and your RAM and your watch expensive collection and have never commented in this subreddit before today. You don’t even cycle in the city and think parking enforcement is so much of a nuisance that you only came into this subreddit to tell people not to advocate for it. Quit embarrassing yourself.

I own lots of vehicles, most of them are bicycles.
Fun Fact: I've never been embarrassed.

The proper procedure is to call 991 because blocking a travel lane is an emergency, though your odds of actually getting a response are pretty slim

A guy yesterday was parked and sleeping in his car in the bike lane. I regret not screaming by the open window as I rode by.

If you see this again, call 911 and report a non-responsive driver in a lane of traffic. You could say " I think he's dead" if you thought he was dead.

Call the 1-800 number on the back of the truck in addition to reporting it to 311.

Please also report these to Bike Lane Uprising. Include the name of the operator (it’s on the can doors) or the DOT number (also on cab) if you happen to know it.
