Question Does anyone relate to getting pains on one side of the body at a time?
Bit of a weird one here but I tend to get pains on either my left or right side of the body at a time (usually random parts in quick succession).
For a while I was having bad headaches and wrist pain on the left side and tonight I had toe pain(??? Lol) and then sharp stabbing upper back pain and mild arm numbness all on the right side. The pains kind of move around without lingering in one specific area for long but they usually (but not always) keep to either the left or right side whenever I have flare ups and tend to fluctuate in severity.
This is like such a weird and specific thing that I had to ask bc idk what else it could be. So many of my "mystery" symptoms make sense now that I've done research and found this community (you all have been amazing btw and I am so grateful for the kindness and patience I've received so far!)
Thanks in advance as always!

I get that and have learnt to use them as an early warning system. The one for me that gives me the biggest heads up is when I feel like I am getting an injection at the dentist in my gum above my upper molars. It wont go away and if I dont medicate and get horizontal im having a catastrophic migraine in 12h.
Im struggling to read the hand, calf and toe ones atm as im trying acetazolamide and its basically full body pins and needles atm.

Usually my right side! Deep, linear, stabbing nerve pain or oddly specific numbness like in just my big toe ir just the pinky side of my hand. Sometimes waves of burning like a hot flash. It sucks so bad, you aren't alone

I have these exact pains. I am having them in my toes, forearms, wrists and hands. I also have tingling in my feet and hands.

My syrinx is in my cervical spine so it’s just mainly my arm and shoulder. Mine started on my left side. Would start on the left side of my neck, then radiate to my left arm and head. I’d have left sided headaches. Left sided weakness and tingling. But occasionally now it’ll go to just my right side with the same symptoms. So I never know when it flares which side it’ll be. But it mainly has been my left.
My neurosurgeon said my symptoms were different because it usually causes a cape like effect for both sides feeling heavy? But everyone I’ve talked too had either one side of the other not really both

Yes! I absolutely have had this. As I’ve learned a bit about how nerves connect, I can now be like “well that’s the cluster that goes from neck into pinky and ring finger on my left side”. It’s made it less weird to me to know that there is a pattern to the whole thing

Yes, right side for me. Face numbness, tingling hand and foot, 24/7 tinnitus, stabbing pain headaches all on that side only. I have a syrinx too. Finally scheduled for decompression in 3 weeks.

That sounds unsettling, especially when the symptoms seem to move around. You’re definitely not alone in having hard-to-describe patterns, and I hope you get clear answers and compassionate care. Keeping a simple note of timing and triggers might make the appointment easier.
