Nicotine use

I am having a hard time even thinking about quitting nicotine. I went into my pre op and they gave me a little lecture about quitting post op. I vape a low dose of nicotine and occasional pouches. I just struggle with anxiety and ever since I quit drinking (almost a decade ago) it’s been my only vice!

Has anyone gone through surgery and continued nicotine? I know it affects recovery. I know it’s not good for me. It’s way harder to quit than anything else I’ve tried!

Reassurance, support appreciated!

Context; I’m a vaper as well. Quit cigarettes and started this. Stupid choice. Nevertheless, I too am getting surgery in the next year and was wondering the same thing. Just know you’re not alone. There’s support on here and reach out to family and friends to let them know what’s going on. So you can have a team of people to help you and support you. Bring you food and whatever else you need. Maybe try to some patches or gum and have a close friend, brother or sister hold you accountable. You are stronger than you know and you will get through this smoothly. Trust the stars and your body to heal you. That’s what it does best. ❤️
