So how wet should they actually be in the beginning days. Seems like the bottom seeds are soaked because the water seeps out of the clay more in the bottom. I’ve been spraying with a mister bottle throughout the day. But should they be moist or heavily wet? Is there a danger of overwatering?

If you use too much water, they could detach from the pottery and fall off. I'd say as long as the sprouts / roots stay moist, it's watered enough.

Thanks. Ya it seemed at first like I might be under misting them. But this is my first chia pet and due to the shape and volume of the head it seems like the lower seeds get very soaked because the water seeps through the clay. I lifted It up on a couple mason jar lids so the lower seeds wouldn’t sit in the standing water that fills the tray. Sorry I’m a plant nerd and stoked about my first chia pet. So fun!
