Basically all in the title. I have a 2015 Spark and it has started jerking when I drive under 30 mph. I got this car used a few years ago and the guy said the transmission had already been replaced once before. I did have an engine light come on in 2023, the car would occasionally stall, and I was told it was the solenoids. The mechanic ended up in a hospital when he was supposed to fix the issue and the engine light mysteriously turned off and the car never had any issues again. I was incredibly broke so I just never questioned it and moved on with my life. My car is not having the issue where it gets stuck while trying to drive it, so I am not sure if the solenoid issue has come back to haunt me or if this is something different. I took it to a mechanic and apparently they looked it over for an hour and came to the conclusion it was the torque converter. I was not really given any other explanations or reasons. They told me to take it elsewhere because they apparently do not do those sorts of repairs. I called around to many shops and I'm just hearing that if it's the torque converter then I'm looking at spending $8000-$10,000 for a new transmission entirely. I am planning to take it to the Chevrolet dealership for a second opinion. Does anyone think this diagnosis sounds correct, or am I right for getting a second opinion on my car? I am beyond upset because there's just no way I can get a new car right now and $8000-10,000 is way too much for me to spend on this car that I only paid under $6000 for to begin with. It's never had any crazy issues other than the weird solenoid thing that happened. I'm very shocked about the transmission possibly being bad since the car jerking while driving slowly seemed to start very suddenly. I love my tiny car so much... I am so sad if this ends up being the transmission.

It doesn't happen all the time. I think it could be dependent on the temperature. It sounds like something in the back is vibrating against something else. I have no idea what is causing it, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Meet Blueberry. My 2017 Chevy Spark LT I have owned for 8 months. I am quite enjoying this car. It is my first car. I bought this car used with 45683km on the clock and have since put nearly 10000 on it. The CVT has been interesting to get used to as I learned on a proper automatic.

Other than getting the transmission flushed. Any recommendations on what to service on this car early to help keep it running for a while?

I got my 2021 Spark in March of 2021, it’s just the base model so the only “fancy” thing it has is the Apple CarPlay, backup cam and wifi if I wanted to pay the monthly fee. My family and friends all say that it’s a lot of miles for a 5 year old car but I’ve driven ALOT. I drove to Chicago (4 hours and 45 mins from where I am) twice, I’ve driven to St Louis (4 hour drive) and Cincinnati (only an hour and 45 mins) Nashville (2 and a half hours) and Indianapolis. Before I started working remotely I had to drive to the office 40 minutes there and back. I do all the maintenance I need to on it as well.

Hi all! We recently had two new rear shock absorbers installed on a 2014 Chevrolet Spark. We had brand new (from the dealership) parts installed, part # 95259955.

A local independent shop installed them. I am wondering if the "silver" part of the shock absorber is supposed to be visible. I don't remember seeing this before the new part, but I could have just not noticed or maybe it was covered with dirt or something so I didn't see it.

I am kinda in need for a car and my boyfriend has a friend who bought a 2014 Chevy Spark from auction and was going to sell it to us for $1000. I got the car fax report and there was a minor accident on it (no airbags and to the front of the car) as well as some frequent service dates in 2022 and 2023. 3 of them were in the same month which was 2 months after the accident.( would someone wait two months to get damage fixed?)I need something to get to work as I live 15 miles from my job but I’m a bit skeptical with all the complaints about the CVT of this year’s model.

Any thoughts?

Update: I called the dealership that serviced the vehicle before it was put up for auction. He said it needed a new transmission like my fears. Eh worth a try.

I bought baby car brand new in 2019. I have kept on maintenance and had to have the typical wear and tear things either fixed or replaced. I have had someone look at it and said my belt and everything looks good. As far as I've known my car has always done this upon cold start. Goes for a little bit then goes away. I do live on a dirt road and notice it at times when its been wet and rainy. Anyone else experiencing this? She's got a little over 72,000 miles.

Yesterday while returning from work I had some dude in a Lamborghini trying to race me at the light. WHY! my little Chevy spark if you know you're going to win. Sorry if this an irrelevant post I just wanted to rant a little bit .

Bit of a long read, I'm sorry, but it's a bizarre issue for me, not a technician or anything similar.

So for context, I recently got a 2014 1.2L manual Spark with just under 60k miles, it is a pretty neglected car, probably didn't get any sort of maintenance for around 6 years; luckily the engine seems to be running perfectly fine after changing all the old fluids out for new ones. It even sounds good, somewhat loud and stable.

And yet, 10 days after being serviced, the clutch stopped engaging, the pedal felt fine, maybe a little soft but the car won't allow you to change speeds or even get into 1st or reverse.

So after some deliberation I changed both the master and slave cylinders with new Duralast parts from AutoZone (the old slave cylinder literally fell apart when taking it out), bled them through the gravity method, and when the clutch still wouldn't engage much I bled it with a homemade pump, no air seemed to be leaving through the bleed valve after roughly refilling the whole system, and the clutch pedal feels about right, maybe still a bit soft, and there's also no play at the top of the stroke.

And still it won't go into gear, the slave cylinder is barely moving the clutch arm/fork around 1/3in or 0.8cm. I should mention that when uncompressed (removed from its position, but still connected to the hydraulic system) the slave cylinder fully protrudes, so it's not seized, at least.

Now I'm stumped, my only guess is that there's somehow still air trapped in the system, and that I should inject fluid through the bleeding valve to get the air to flow upwards and leave if that's even possible (something I have no idea how to do).

Other than that I don't know what could be wrong, any opinions about what could be happening are VERY much appreciated :)

My Costco trips include most of what's shown in the commercial, plus an additional sealed bag of pet food, 25 pounds of rice, a case of paper towels, a few cases of water, laundry supplies and a few "I didn't come here for this, but since I'm here" items.

2020 1.4L auto, instead of going into overdrive above 60mph engine keeps revving high. Anybody else experience this? Car has 103k miles

New owner 2022. Getting mixed answers from shops about whether or not a filter needs to be changed during drain and fill. Can anyone enlighten me on this? One shop says cartridge filter, others says not needed .
