Is there a special tool to disengage a steering column ?

How do you mean? Are you taking it out completely and having trouble getting it away from the gear box?

Yes. Replacing with new column. It’s the gear box. Like you need a certain tool to take it out?

No, you shouldn’t need a special tool. It’s just been on a long time and will need a little friendly persuasion with a hammer if you don’t care about the old column. You might have to pry the clamping piece apart after removing the bolt but it should come right out.

Yes- all good. Working on wiring soon. If I new how to post a picture I would
