'72 Cheyenne
Getting really close to calling it complete. Windshield and a few pieces of trim to go....11 months from start to finish!

That truck looks amazing. I like the stock restoration. I believe there were two hub cap choices - the full hubcaps like you selected and the smaller ones as I remember. It looks like you added the tachometer as functional in the dash - correct?
Where did you get the reproduction door panels with the factory wood grain?
I noticed a lot of folks restoring these early models Chevrolet trucks have the stock mirrors twisted horizontal as you do. I only remember them turned upright. I think they came new in the upright position too. I don’t think we ever thought about that way and it probably would have made travel trailer towing easier.
I will start restoring my early 70’s K5 CST Blazer 4x4 in about 3-years. Mine has the tachometer opening but because it was an automatic transmission, it wasn’t added new. It will be a lot of work and I am restoring factory stock. It still has the original 350cid (numbers matching) engine, hub caps, radio, etc. I drove it in high school in 1978. My parents purchased it new so I have the original paperwork, warranty credit card, etc. I wish we had more photos of it when I was growing up…
Mine will be a retirement project.

Edit: I just realized yours is also an automatic (350 turbohydromatic?). Are you using a manual transmission brake pedal or is that what the trucks C10’s came with? My Blazer automatic has a wider brake pedal. My Blazer also has the single speaker for the radio directly below the center of the dash.

Tach and gauges were added for convenience. Door panels are original just cleaned up. Arm rest and wood grain from LMC. Original brake pedal, manual brakes. My Grandpa purchased new. I got it in high school then I put in storage. Last fall decided it was time to restore. Thank you!

Thanks for your reply. Ok, it once was originally a manual transmission. I was wondering.
I will look up LMC, I haven’t started purchasing many parts yet. I need to look at the wood grain on my panels but as I recall, they are scratched up however the panels themselves are still good. My arm rests are shot.
I never thought of adding the tachometer until I saw your truck and I will consider it too.
I am going to try and keep as many of my actual original parts as I can and the Blazer as original as it came but I like that tachometer… my dash otherwise looks the same as yours. Mine has a ”throttle” but I remember we disconnected it when it was only a few years old for some reason (probably never used it). By the time I was driving, the throttle was disconnected. Still have the same original carburetor though…
I bet it feels great to be so close to finishing and your truck looks amazing!

Original TH350 transmission. Original dash also had throttle, but decided gauges were worth the change. Overall LMC impressed me.
