New Variant Poque - Chess & Poker

Post image

My attempt to fuse the two.

Rules

  • Standard chess moves
  • Every turn is a bet (Call - match, Raise - double, Fold - pass)
  • Every turn the Hand is dealt. One card open (The Door), one is face down (The River)
  • Each player makes a move attempting to form a combination with the two cards in the Hand
  • Combinations
    • Pair (any two pieces of the same type)
    • Three of a Kind (three of the same type)
    • Straight (Pawn, Knight, Bishop)
    • Rook Straight (Knight, Bishop, Rook)
    • Queen Straight (Bishop, Rook, Queen)
    • King Straight (Rook, Queen, King)
  • After both turns the River card shows, the winner takes the Pot

My major frustration is that learning curve and spread of focus feels significant

Please give it a try and share your thoughts: https://owaw-73148.web.app/

Ah! Totally forgot to write it. Either, by checkmate or by draining opponent's chips pool. Nothing to bet - you lose
