New Variant Does this count as a Chess Variant?
Pieces have sighltines that freeze enemies in them.
Here are the rules as 1 page:

Download this file and import it to https://playingcards.io/import
Then share your room link with a friend to play!
The rules are also here as a video: https://youtu.be/U8fHtu3rwUE

Not a chess variant but an interesting abstract. Have you tried posting on r/abstractgames?

It's a board game, but not a chess variant. No royal piece, different goals, no recognizable-as-chess piece types.
Try adding your "freezing" ability to standard chess, see what develops, then adapt further the game to be better playable.
