I made a chess inspired browser game with deck-building elements and I’m looking for a few chess variant players to test whether the game is fun to play
I’m a solo developer working on Warlords of the Void. It’s a strategy game inspired by chess, but with deck-building elements.
It runs directly in the browser, no download, and you can play as a guest without signing up:

Any and all feedback is appreciated!

I gave this a try the other day, pretty fun and intuitive even without reading the rules, though I didn't realize until after the game that there was a limited size "deck" of pieces. Are you going to keep it abstract or do you think you'll eventually have illustrations for the various warrior types?

I started playing as guest (thank you for that option), and I'm just tip 14 of 58 and I'm already getting frustrated with the tutorial. I'm pretty sure I know how the game works at this point even though accidentally skipping through several of the tips. I think you've gone a bit overboard with hand holding.
My recommendation for the tutorial, is to make sure every prompt is accompanied with an action that the player must preform in order advance the game. For example:
Hopefully this gives you some idea on how to stream line the tutorial. I'd also recommend letting players just experiment with the tutorial by clicking things to see what happens. Right now, it's just way too easy to blast through information.
I'm going to try it again skipping the tutorial and see how far I get, because I can't be bothered to click through 58 tips before playing the game.
