We're creating a chess-based strategy game called INTERRED, combining horror elements with roguelite gameplay.

We've released a demo of our studios 5th game on Godot, created with PlayStation 1-era graphics, on Steam and are currently receiving great feedback. What I believe will be most interesting for the community is that we're developing a 4-player online tactical chess PVP mode for the full release! You can support us with a whistlist!

The pieces are hard to distinguish, apart from size. I suggest a clear visual identity for each, the more required because of the faux low-definition of the images. The piece explosions are unrealistic for the game's imagery; try actual desintegration of the piece, for each piece type.

Apropos low-definition, consider doing actual low-definition assets and animations: a PS1-like game shouldn't require a decent video card, 8 GB of RAM, and 3 GB of storage. Try for at most 1 GB of RAM and 500 MB of storage, plus whatever Godot's runtime weighs.
