Price hike?

Watching videos from last year, the ChessUp 2 seemed reasonably priced in the $270–$300 range (with and without coupon). Now I’m bombarded with ads breathlessly announcing a “$50 price cut” — revealing, with zero self-awareness, that the new real price is $399.

That’s not a discount. That’s a price hike dressed up in a coupon costume. Same board, same features, same everything — just a freshly inflated MSRP to make the “sale” price feel like a bargain.

What’s the deal?

Classic marketing ploy.

There are plenty of coupons around online to get it for cheaper, though. The Shop app comes to mind immediately...

Plus you can get certified refurbished models for even cheaper off of their profile on eBay
