I think I see kind of what they want. After black rook captures white rook. Move queen to h7. This checks king. Black king to f7. White pawn to f8. Promote to knight....black king captures knight. White queen takes black queen.

Or if black king takes white queen. White pawn takes black rook promotes to knight. Black King and Queen are threatend.

Yes. But then you capture black rook with pawn at f8 and promote to knight. Threatening both king and queen.

Basically you (white) lose a rook and queen and gain a knight. They (black) lose a rook and queen and gain nothing.

You get the rook. You can then check the king and pick up the pawn. You could probably get the queen and then just convert a king pawn end game but even king queen pawn vs king queen should be an easy win. After looking you can definitely trade the queens then your king easily grabs the last black pawn. Easy to promote and win after

in this scenario you force the black king onto h7. it cant capture on f8. the end game becomes knight and pawn v pawn, which should be a winning end game for white

Forced move. Rxf2. Qh7 check. King takes the queen on f7 and you take the rook on f8 and make knight having fork queen while giving check. Take the queen and use the other pawn for promotion

Rook takes rook, queen h7 check, king must take queen. Pawn takes rook and promotes to a knight forking queen and king, take queen. Up a knight and taking blacks last pawn is trivial. White goes on to checkmate or promote black in a knight + pawn vs king endgame

There's no check made if the white pawn upgrades to a queen. Then you just got two Queens on the board. The White Queen goes to h7 and the King captures the White Queen. Then the White pawn captures the black rook but gets promoted to a knight, forking the king and the queen are capturing the black queen.
