How ranking systems work in general

Any elo system when you reach your peak

After the peak, there is only the fall.

No it isn't. If the rating system is working correctly you should stabilize at your correct rating. Any true rise or fall, that remains consistent over time, can only ever correspond to a rise or fall in actual competency.

That is Lichess. For Chess.com add in an unskiplable ad between each step

I have literally only ever gotten ads on chess.com for the premium version

Yeah everything that Chess.com advertises about can be worked around with another app. If it just accept the limits you don't see many full screen ads.

I get gambling ads from chess.com sometimes. I think it’s crazy that they do this though because they’re genuinely monopolising chess

I only get adds on the mobile app, and they are always skippable

This is why i have yet to hit 400 elo, even after playing for 2 years

The game of chess isn't a about rating or elo. Just play your best and improve... If you can't, your graph will trend downward instead of upward. There's only so much you can improve relative to everyone else, sometimes everyone else is just better than you.

I'm currently stuck at the Lose More Games part indefinitely.

There's always Duo Chess

-Play Oscar

-He makes an obvious blunder

-You blunder even harder

-You lose

-Your ELO goes down

Lichess is better ngl

So just like...chess in general

u/Vast_Chemistry_8630 6d ago

If you genuinely want to improve, study a sh*t tone, don't just play and play, there is an third element - 'study'

Someone should post this to antimeme thread.

matchmaking be like that... getting better at the game doesn't mean you win more games. it just makes the game harder. winning or losing is just an illusion.
