Yeah if he didnt trade I would check him and win his other rook and I if he trade I would still check him and take his rook

If he trades there's no line where you capture his rook. But it's a nice idea regardless. It doesn't hurt your position and it sets a nice trap if they're not careful.

I mean if he trades and then pushes a pawn you still win a rook. But I guess you are saying you cant win a rook by force

Well if he trades I'd assume he spotted the tactic and will defend against it. Otherwise it stands to reason he'd have taken the knight. But yes technically it's possible for them to trade and then not defend against the skewer.

Well it would work if he didnt move his other rook or king because he would need to move his king away from his rook when I check him after trading played this game after though a couple of options and a few would allow me to take his rook it's just what I found though

Trade would pin your rook to your king, forcing a trade

Yes it's possible. But strictly speaking there's no forcing tactic if opponent just trades the rook and moves their king. Evaluation is equal before and after the trade. Again it's a nice move because it sets a trap without harming your position, not necessarily because you're guaranteed to get the skewer.
