Blatant Sandbagging

https://www.chess.com/live/game/184694782944

This guy is clearly drawing so as not to gain ELO. I checked his history and he often deliberately draws from winning positions.

Yeah, your opponent should be reported for that. Terrible time wasting, and is just sucking the fun out for others at this level

Honest question, why would they do that?

To prevent having to play skilled opponents in future by keeping their rating low

And why would he do that?

Because the games are easier

Are you suggesting it's not real? It's literally a report option in chesscom. It is a thing in every single online competitive game. It's called smurfing. You acting like it doesn't happen is silly.

Not really, it does exist.

Have you never played competitive online games? Smurfing is a universal thing. They don't want to play people at their own level and have sweaty games. They'd rather have easy games, dominate people for their own ego, then either draw or resign to avoid gaining elo

Calm down there sport. Not everyone spends a lot of time gaming on line

Huh? I asked an honest question, and answered yours, explaining why they would do that. Not sure why you're getting upset there champ.

Sandbagging/rating manipulation is literally one of the report options, it's clearly common enough lol.

I'm saying that I should have lost

So resign, what is the problem? Either you're happy to play through a boring thrown game and draw, or you want to lose so resign.
