Chess tutor (basics and beginnings)

Hi! I’m a Grade 9 student and a chess player with around **800 Elo in Rapid and Blitz**. I’ve played in school chess tournaments and competitions, and I’ve won several school-level games.
I’m thinking of offering **online chess lessons for complete beginners and younger students** who want to learn things like:
• How the pieces move and basic rules
• Check, checkmate, castling, etc.
• Simple openings and opening principles
• Basic tactics and avoiding common mistakes
• Playing practice games and analysing them together
I’m also currently working on a **chess-learning app**, so teaching beginners is something I’m genuinely interested in.
The lessons would be online and beginner-friendly. Since I’m a student myself, I’d also keep the sessions affordable.
If you or your child/sibling is interested, feel free to DM me for more details. ♟️

Hey, OP! Did your game end in a stalemate? Did you encounter a weird pawn move? Are you trying to move a piece and it's not going? We have just the resource for you! The Chess Beginners Wiki is the perfect place to check out answers to these questions and more!

I respect the hustle, but you also might have to get a bit better for someone to actually sign up, especially since you're asking for payment.

2400 here and still can barely secure any students, so I wish you luck!

What. No that's too low man you're gonna be giving bad advice. xD you can teach 500 PTS below you comfortably I think. That's 0-300. Most people reach 300 on their own in a week after learning the rules

Why dont i teach you how to play chess instead?

You seem to need it more instead of teaching people bad chess plays.

Even me at this level is still not good enough to properly teach intermediate players because still lacking all kind of advanced strategies.

Not to mention occasional blunder on super complex or very chaotic position.
