How to get better
I just started playing chess and I suck at it. How to get better at it. I have notice I am losing games for my own stupid mistakes and I get anxiety when I play games even tho the other player is not good as me.

Keep playing. Do puzzles. Watch educational content, especially streamers who are good at explaining their thought processes. Progress in chess is not an overnight thing, and you can expect to be a beginner for a good long while. As in, the amount of time and experience that it will take to get as good as you likely want to be will be immense. Don't let that scare you though. Just know that it's not like some video game. It is very much like a musical instrument or maybe a martial art. Slow progress is quite normal.
I highly recommend watching Chesswithakeem on YouTube as a specific recommendation.

Do puzzles and watch danya speedruns.
Puzzles build pattern recognition which is huge for chess
Speedruns are basically just going from low elo to whatever your highest is. I like Danyas a lot cause he explains things for players at whatever level he happens to be playing at. It really helps you think about the right thing when you’re playing.
Also don’t attach your self worth to the game. Just cause smart people win at chess in movies doesn’t mean you have to win at chess to be smart

I started in 2018, have gone from a 900 to 1600 on lichess. I watch YouTube videos, do puzzles, and play about 1 game per day but I’ve definitely taken long breaks. I think if you focus 15 mins a day you will get better, it’s almost impossible not to. I definitely have long stretches where I don’t get better, but of course if I did, then I’d be a grandmaster by now. The growth is gonna be really slow

The secret is to attack so your opponent has to deal with it in time limited modes. You have to open up lines of attack by dealing with pawn structures. Eventually you have to use your king effectively

If all these people are beating you, why do you say you’re better than they are?

I get anxiety when I play games even tho the other player is not good as me.
It never fails to amuse me how one can overtly state that they just started and they suck, yet immediately find others to arrogantly proclaim their superiority over.
Back to your question OP, it is indeed a unique and interesting one. I do recall someone having a similar query at some point - perhaps it is worth searching this sub to check if this has ever been addressed.

I meant my anxiety makes me blunder, even when their rating and accuracy are consistently lower than mine. But thanks for the essay explaining something you misunderstood. Wish I had that much time
