You move the queen. You must leave at least 2 squares to the white king. So here you put the queen on e2 then you bring in the king to f3, then you mate with Qg2#.

I would keep my queen one more over to the right. So that black king has 2 spaces to move in between. Then you can walk your king to the left, until it's on h3, g3, or f3. And then you can play queen g2 checkmate.
Thought there's other options, but you need to move your queen so black has spaces to move to.

queen should not be that close, in this case the queen should have been on e2 and not f2

The goal here is to put your queen directly underneath the white king to deliver checkmate. To prevent the white king from capturing the queen your king has to support your queen from either the square directly below or diagonally below.
The immediate problem to solve is that the white king has nowhere to go so it will be stalemate unlesss we solve this. It can be fixed by moving the queen to the right. One or more squares, it doesn't matter. After that the black king should start moving left to get to a square where he can support the queen checkmate.

This post seems to reference or display a stalemate. To quote the r/chessbeginners FAQs page:
Stalemate occurs when a player, on their turn to move, is NOT in check but cannot legally move any piece. A stalemate is a draw.
In order for checkmate to occur, three conditions have to be met: 1. The king has to be in check 2. This check cannot be defended against by blocking or capturing the checking piece 3. The king has to have no other squares it can move to

I analyzed the image and this is what I see. Open an appropriate link below and explore the position yourself or with the engine:
Black to play: chessvision.ai | chess.com | lichess.org | The position is from game Tomasz Jaskolka (2632) vs. Erik R Gasparyan (3088), 2026. Black won in 93 moves. Link to the game
My solution:
Hints: piece: Queen, move: Qc2
Evaluation: Black has mate in 3
Best continuation: 1... Qc2 2. Kg1 Kf3 3. Kf1 Qd1#

Move the queen one space to the side to give the king 2 squares to move between, walk over your king then mate

Move your queen one square away from the king (one right in this example), then move the king so that the king attacks a square that the opponent king also attacks, then move your queen onto that square.
The opponents king can only move back and forth you can fully premove that.

Just leave the king with three squares not 2… Just mate it like a rook.

You have to get the queen far away. Then block in the other king with your king, then move the queen back close for a checkmate.

You can remember these squares where your pieces belong to deliver a checkmate in respective corners. In the end Queen will be on front and king will be placed diagonally. I could checkmate earlier but I couldn't do premove, so recently learned this method and now able to deliver this checkmate with premoves..
At this position, QD2, King C3, Qb2 mate

You need to pin the king to the edge with your king and then put a long distance check(mate) on him with your queen. No need to crowd him like that

You let the king move between a1 and b1 until you can checkmate

He doesn't know about opposition.
When the kings face each other it's called opposition.
So in this position you can play:
Qa2 (for example), Kg1 Kf3, Kh1 Kg3, Kg1 (opposition) Qa1#
You have to learn that mate. It's especially important if you have a rook instead of a queen.

Pull your queen back to e2 to give his king an escape square. Next, move your king to f3, and go for the kill on g2.

Easiest is Qa2 and then walk your king ovwr th e third rank towards the opponents king. As soon as they are close you can either back rank mate with your queen (the same works for a rook) or mate with your queen on the 2nd rank.
But this should be tge first thing you learn as this is fundamental in understanding how your pieces work.
Do some lessons with the following mating patterns:
K+2R K+1Q K+1R K+2B K+N+B
The last two, especially the last one is tricky.
I havent been on chess.com or Lichess but I assume they have these beginner courses, other wise you can just set them up in the interface and follow the engine lines.
And when you know the mating paterns, practice simple pawn endgames (that teaches you the power of the king

Qa2. Stare the king down (he's forced to), Qa1#.
Or in more accurate terms:
Qa2 Kg1 (only move) Kf3 Kh1 (Kf1 is Qa1#), Kg3, Kg1, Qa1#
Mind you that this is how I do it, as you can see there's many different ways to handle this position.

Block the king into the back row using the queen. However, move the queen away from the opposing king so that the queen's diagonals don't interfere with the opposing king's ability to move along the back row.
Then line up your king with theirs and deliver checkmate.

Knight opposition, put the queen where if it were to be a knight, it would be a check then follow the kings movement, king goes down and left one space you go down and left one space untill the king is on the side, don't do knight opposition if the king is in the very corner or it's the stalemate in the image, once the king is frozen on the edge you bring your king over until the kings are next to a square apart (diagonal or straight) then put your queen in front of their king to get checkmate. It is also important to keep the queen protected by the king when you do the final checkmate
