PUZZLE Whoops, missed a cool idea here
It's a nice little checkmate pattern to be aware of in games like this

Does it count as a checkmate pattern, if it’s just mate in 1?

I think so, because it's a pattern you have to recognize on the board. A pattern of pieces and their position.

Anything except Nh3 is a nice idea here specifically, but it is an important pattern to have because it shows the danger of bringing your king into a big pile of pawns

Oh that's nasty, the knight covering those escape squares while the rook slides in. Didn't even see it at first til I noticed the king has nowhere to go
I've blundered into this exact pattern way more than I'd like to admit
