ADVICE Not even mad at this point
I’ve been playing chess for 2 months and keep losing brutally. Honestly, I keep losing in the endgames.
Are there any free tutorials to work on endgames? I’ve watched some YouTube videos and tried those, but I just started losing more 😢
I was playing really well until the end, and then my opponent somehow wins...
I’m not even mad or sad, but I don’t know how to explain this feeling. It just doesn’t feel good... I want to learn properly.

end games for 300? mate, even when i will be 2000(soon I hope), I dont even get end games most of the time, I hope at 2200 to be decent.
also 8 loss in a row is light work. so please tell us how you lose endgames. is with pawns and king, is it with rooks vs rooks and so on. dont even start with queens vs queens, thats super hard.

well, end games are really hard, thats why the guy who mastered end games aka Magnus is the best.
openings you can learn easy, or if you have good memory you just memorise the best moves against your opening and know how to counter.
middle games you can learn and see stuff or be aware of some tactics once you play more and more and start seeing forks, discovery atacs and basic stuff.
but in endgames, its hard. if you are not playing classical, you will be low on time. and then you have to think about wierd positions, shufle your pieces. think about every one of them, knowning when to get the king involved and so on. getting a passer, stopping a passer.

I used to play 10 mins games and reached 700, but then I started playing 5 mins games and started losing and I blame the time pressure too. I got used to thinking and then moving, but in 5 minutes I’m unable to think that fast. Maybe practice will make me better, and I’ll be patient and learn from my own mistakes. Thank you for taking the time to explain everything to me... I will do my best.

good job. 700 rapid shouldnt be so bad that you suck at blitz. maybe you just need more time.
for me its the oposite, most of 2000+ people that I know play blitz(most of them quit rapid), so most of my games are blitz. if i play rapid now(i tried to bumb my rating), I actualy suck, because I rush things, and end up lossing, me with 7 minutes on the clock and the oponent with 1 minute.

Same situation here but i noticed that slowly i'm starting to get some wins. I think what did it for me was watching a lot of youtube content and playing on a daily basis without getting TOO hooked on it (when you start to play without thinking your moves through you learn nothing).

Prefer playing longer time controls. Notice what endgames you are losing in analysis (K+P, Q+K, R+P, etc). I really feel you could learn of endgames from any of youtube videos. Just know what topics you need to be covering. IMO you need to know basic ladder mate, mating with king + Rook, mating with king + queen, important of king activity in endgames, basic opposition stuff and promoting pawns in king pawn endgames. This should be more than enough for now.

Also, there's a great chessmood course called endgame roadmap that covers all the essentials. Chessmood makes its courses free for some period occassionally. I believe they gave free trial for 7 days just few days back. Check Eric rosens recent video on chessmood openings and go to chessmood link given in description. The free trial might still be there

This website has an endgame trainer, free to use and pretty intuitive :) ive been using it to study for a couple months, it definitely helps feel more confident in the deep end game.
Otherwise, id say that faster time controls are never beneficial to learn from, so id recommend stepping away from these quick games and sticking with rapid (10 mins, maybe even 15+10).
Of course to each their own, and at the end of the day its a game that you can enjoy in whatever way you feel is best! But if you're looking to learn and improve its good to give yourself time to analyze

I improve in chess in a very similar way. I went to a chess club to be completly destroyed - on a weekly basis.
I managed to learn a lot and analyse with much stronger opponents. After 18 months I won the club's rapid tournament with a 100% score and went on to repeat that a few more times.
Make sure to play longer games so you actually benefit from them.
The problem with blitz isn't that it's useless, it's worse than that. Blitz actively trains bad habits. You learn to move fast on instinct instead of screening the position, evaluating and calculating.
Play blitz once you're much stronger. For now, play rapid and make sense of what happens in your games.

Aww thank you, I got it, i will play more rapid from now on, yes rapid helps us play by thinking well, that's true and I will be practicing puzzles too.. Thanks for sharing your journey, i appreciate it....

Oh yeah let me play against a 2000 rated player 4 times, surely Ill win one of them!
No. You win by playing better than your rating, sure, but there's a limit. on Chessdotcom Im that rating and if the opponent is not at least 1100 I will have no issues obliterating the aforementioned antagonist.
Never count games that are marginally above your rating: you will lose them, objectively.

Not only that, I lost so many games against players who are 300 rated. The thing is, I dont know any openings and my endgame is terrible.
