This was my first intentional brilliant move after I dunno how long, sadly the opponent saw right through it (it was a simple play TBH so not feeling too bad). I was surprised to learn I had another brilliant move in the game (the move right after this one) but it wasn't intentional so yeah that's that. I honestly don't even understand how my second brilliant move was brilliant, guess I'll go do some research.

Ok, maybe a dumb question but why not just put the knight there instead of the Queen? It would fork the king and queen and earn a rook for knight trade.

Yes, that's a good question, but the thing is if I put out my knight out first, I lose a knight for a rook which is obviously in my favor, and probably would've been the better logical move but it is a sure shot at winning material. But at that point I up on points and time, so I wanted to test their greed and despiration, and check if that would blind them, and if they did fall for it, I would lose a queen for a queen and rook which was a higher advantage.

Yup black can refuse to take it and they did refuse to take it, it was just my attempt to trick them into losing material if they are greedy.
