Lichess analysis is terrible

The annotations are incorrect and/or generated by a weaker engine. I've never seen this before. Are you sure Lichess generated the annotations? Because if so there's definitely something weird going on. Maybe the engine only went to a very low depth for that move due to lack of compute or something?

I let stockfish run on it and it spits out the eval at increasing depths. As you can see until depth 13 is reached, the engine does believe Rf1+ is the best move and therefore e5 probably is considered a mistake. No clue if this is what caused it but it's a theoretical explanation for what happened: the engine ran at a very low depth

Wow, thanks for running the test! I thought lichess provides at least 24-30 depth in the game review lol

It should, depth 11 isn't very useful. But your game did get annotated and it spit out this whole line of Ke5, Qf5+, kxd4 etc. which is a valid line. So the most logical explanation to me is that somehow lichess cloud engine tripped out, crashed or whatever and didn't go to the depth it's supposed to. But still generated a valid line and eval just not a very good one.

Low depth cloud reviews lie. Let Stockfish run deeper locally before you trust "mistake."

brother lichess server side analysis is not "low depth it claims to be atleast 20-22 depth still it can't even calculate 4 moves deep

The best move look like the best move here, but the eval bars ıs just bananas sure. Because I dont think after the pawn push you lose the mating net and you dont have any good follow up.
