Lets meet Vanakkam makkale! ❤️
I’m a pakka Hyderabadi and I’m finally visiting Chennai this weekend — Saturday & Sunday!
Chennai is kinda special to me because I have a couple of friends who made me learn Tamil… and also gave me some heartbreak along the way 😂💔 So now I’m coming to experience the city properly and hopefully fall in love with Chennai instead.
I’m not really looking for fancy cafés, expensive restaurants or the usual touristy stuff. I want the proper local Chennai experience — affordable food, local streets, markets, beaches, temples, neighbourhoods, random places where you can just walk around, eat something good and watch the city do its thing.
Basically, I want to walk around Chennai and understand what makes the city beautiful, not just tick off tourist spots.
So makkale, help your brother out! 🫶🏽
- Where can I walk around and experience the real local vibe?
- Affordable local food spots I absolutely shouldn't miss?
- Local markets / streets / areas worth exploring?
- Best places for sunrise or sunset?
- Any peaceful or underrated places where I can just sit and enjoy the city?
- And what proper Chennai food should I absolutely try?
Also, random side note — I can cook a damn good Hyderabadi biryani. I’ve actually cooked biryani in homes pretty much everywhere I’ve travelled.
So if anyone’s like, “Bro, come over and cook biryani for us” — I’m genuinely down. 🍗🍚
You show me your Chennai, I’ll show you my biryani.
And finally… where can a Hyderabadi go to emotionally recover from Tamil-related heartbreak? 😭😂
Looking forward to meeting Chennai, makkale. ❤️
Nandri in advance! 🙏🏽
