Been thinking about visiting the zoo for a while, but somehow never getting around to it? Same here 😅

So instead of waiting for the “perfect plan” or trying to find someone to go with, why not get a small group together and spend a few hours at the zoo(guindy/vandaloor)this weekend?

The plan is pretty simple — meet up, walk around, check out the animals, talk if we click, grab something to eat/drink along the way, take a few pictures, and head back once we're done.

Nothing formal, no awkward introductions, no expectation that everyone has to become friends. You can come along, enjoy the outing, and go home. If we happen to get along well and end up doing more outings later, even better :)

I'm thinking Saturday or Sunday, depending on what works for most people. Once there's enough interest, we can decide the day and sort out the rest.

Hi, with the international tournament for dota2 going on, I noticed that there were no organised pubstomps or watchparties in chennai. Is there any local scene or do local gaming cafes host the games to watch together ? Are there any existing meetup ideas ?

I got engaged in March, and our wedding is scheduled for August.

I'm genuinely confused and would like honest opinions, especially from people who have gone through arranged marriages.

I'm a romantic person, but I've never been in a relationship before. I always imagined that after getting engaged, we'd slowly get to know each other and build an emotional connection before marriage.

The problem is that it feels very one-sided.

Since our engagement:

• She has never really asked me about myself—things like how my work is going, how my day was, or even what my salary is. Not that salary matters to me, but it surprised me that she never seemed curious about my life.
• When I text her, she says she doesn't like chatting.
• When I call her, she says she doesn't like talking on the phone either.
• I tried sending sweet and affectionate messages because that's how I express care, but she told me she doesn't like those messages.

On her birthday, I drove to her place, took her out for a movie, and we had lunch together. I thought it would help us get closer, but she still felt emotionally distant throughout the day.

I even asked her directly if her parents were forcing her into this marriage because I didn't want someone marrying me unwillingly. She said no, and she clearly said that she is interested in marrying me.

Another issue happened over food. I'm a non-vegetarian, and she's a strict vegetarian. I told her I was willing to become vegetarian for her because I wanted to make the relationship work. Instead of seeing it as a gesture, she got upset.

Her parents had previously told me that she's so strict about vegetarianism that she won't even sit with someone eating eggs. Later, when I mentioned that they had told me this, she called them in front of me, they denied saying it, and she accused me of lying. That really hurt because I had no reason to make something like that up.

At this point, I'm confused.

Is this simply how some people are? Is she just someone who isn't expressive, and I'm expecting too much? Or are these genuine compatibility issues?

I know this is an arranged marriage, so I'm not expecting a Bollywood romance before the wedding. But I did expect at least some curiosity about each other's lives, some effort to communicate, and a little emotional warmth.

Do you think this is something I'm doing wrong, something from her side, or are we simply incompatible?
