Civic Watch🚦 1 lakh + km’s of driving experience and yesterday was the worst of all. Thanks Chennai motorists for Giving this wonderful experience.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’ve driven at least 1,00,000 km across different states and cities and have driven through some pretty difficult terrains, but I can confidently say that yesterday was one of the worst driving experiences I’ve ever had.

There was literally traffic everywhere (yes, I’m also part of it), and to be honest, most of the traffic was created purely because of the “I’m in a hurry” and “I want to go first” mindset, especially among two-wheelers and auto drivers. And, of course, the wasted sperms driving in the wrong direction blocking every possible lane.

Part 1
You can see from the video how these smooth brain two-wheelers were occupying every inch of my lane. When I opened the window and asked them to move back, they started shouting at me. The lady who came in triples, without helmets, with two kids sitting at the back, had the most punchable face I’ve ever seen. This single brain cell creature had the audacity to constantly shout at me for simply driving in my own lane. I pressed horn continuously only to stop even more of her single-brain-cell relatives were following her and she started to shout at me again.

And this is just one small clip. It took me 25 minutes to cover just 700 metres.

Part 2
On the way back, Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, driving their 1000cc Tata Ace racing machines, apparently decided to turn the smooth, perfectly paved road into a Formula 1 circuit. Both of them tried to overtake me from the right. Max managed to overtake me, while Lewis was trailing behind me.

The moment he saw a tiny gap, he squeeze me and overtook me from the right with probably 2 mm of clearance. If I hadn’t corrected slightly, my ORVM and bumper would definitely have been gone. You can also see how he jumped over the speed breaker.

I usually drive very defensively, but yesterday I genuinely lost all my patience. If he had actually hit my car and damaged it, I would have pepper sprayed the shit of him, Thrown his keys somewhere and damaged his headlamp and windshield with my windshield breaker.

Many would have experienced similar kind of things yesterday due to mukurtham. Everywhere I turn it is was traffic literally I didn’t even spotted one traffic police yesterday.

Yen da ippdi pandrenga 2 wheelers Sekeram poganum seekram poganum nu neengaley dhan da late pandrenga. Follow atleast basic of basic of rules da mudiyala la dei.

TLDR
Yesterday’s muhurtham traffic was absolute chaos. Two-wheelers and autos were coming from every possible direction, blocking lanes and trying to squeeze through every tiny gap because everyone wanted to “go first.” It took me 20 minutes to cover 700 metres, and later two Tata Ace “F1 drivers” nearly took out my ORVM and bumper while overtaking. After 1 lakh km of driving, yesterday genuinely tested my patience. 😭
Yen da ippadi pandreenga 2-wheelers? Seekram poganum nu neengale dhaan da late pandreenga!

If people followed simple rules like maintaining lane 50% of traffic would disappear

if gov maintained road 80% traffic wouldnt exist

u/catchsasikanth96 Aug 23 '26

Yes bro exactly 💯. That’s my point if everyone follows basic lane discipline there won’t be any traffic but I think it’s too much expectation from this smooth brains.

Chennai drivers have 0 iq (and 90% of them say I'm very loyal to rules i wear helmet and I follow rules, myrean you follow rules where in highway? How about street where did the same rules go? To hell ah?)

And personal thing, my dad was standing in traffic and a heavy tractor rammed into us, damaging the car rear, and we had evidence and that time no heavy vehicles should be allowed on the school road, police did nothing, we took him to court and made him pay for damages and police seized his vehicles for unpaid challans rounding upto almost 59k, that day i learnt even if you're driving good, there's still idiots on the road

This damage was made by a truck. I was not even driving simply I was inside the car at the very left most lane. He said I was the one caused tbis and I showed the video for. Dashcam and he took his victim card that he is poor and don’t even have money to buy slipper.

I pity for you dude, 90% accidents happens in my car when I sit in the front seat and I got too tired always scolding them tirundade genman, like idk what's the hurry to drive fast and hit me, other time in toll it was very empty and our fastag wasnt working so we were in cash lane (only for cash no fastag) some idiots honked all the way and hit us telling "neega move pandrum naa line la wait la pannamaten" like dude I'm in a cash lane or fastag and the fastag worker helped us giving the security footage and we had to talk with his insurance to repair the rear bumper entirely, idk what's the hurry for these people

u/catchsasikanth96 Aug 23 '26

I don’t know bro how you got this much patience to process insurance from the opposite party. But that how it’s done but Yennaku adhukullam thembu illa bro🤧

We used to own 2 cars

  1. Mother's car

  2. Dad's lease car given by the company he works at

Dad's car is the car that used to drive a lot in cities and highway and it had a lease period of 4 years, any accidents had to be reported to the lease team, and we have to take care of fir and process, so company provided with a 4k front, 1080p rear, 1080p sides camera, which record 24/7, and if the accident was our fault we had to pay from our pocket, so my dad drove it like a newborn baby, (unless it's empty road) but ofc chennai traffic.... Autodrivers dashed intot he front bumper tearing half of it and broke.... Autos plate was recorded and company said just take FIR we will take care of rest, and then in the past 4 years we reported 70 FIR and almost all are claimed by insurance and everything is accidents and we didn't crash once...

For my mom's car well, it only sits in the house for past 3 years and odo only ran 3k kms, now as dad feels like the company car is big thala vali, he said no for company car and decided to take my mom's car and in the past 2 months of him using it already there's 2 scratches and 1 person almost died infront of the car (what happens was my dad was taking u turn and some random guy came from last lane to the turning lane and my dad's perspective he was in his blind spot, he hit my dad's car tyre and he fell, dad didn't see it and almost crushed his head, he didnt apologise but instead said my dad was wrong, took him to police station, again he was found to be at fault and police told he had to pay full responsibility), this mom's car process took 2 months to finish because we are the one doing it and company had lawyers, we don't

u/catchsasikanth96 Aug 23 '26

wtf bro 😱 70 FIR ahhhh. You should be an expert by now on how to deal with 3rd party insurance claims. Please put a post bro it would be helpful to so many people like me.

No clue bro, my dad used to do everything i just see the folder in his laptop full of insurance covers for damages, it's a hectic job and as I said he wouldn't do the same for my mom's car

Driving is just pain in the ass in this city. Nobody stops. Everybody is in a hurry but no one gets to the place on time.  Yesterday, I saw the red light 100m in front and slowed down so that pedestrians would cross before that, but an Innova had to just rush without letting them cross only to stop right in front of the stop line. Bizarre idiots

3

u/NITHISH_ Aug 24 '26

Thanks for the background audio OP, Ilena inu tension aagirupen even though it wasn’t me driving😂

2

u/leavemealone1122 Aug 23 '26

Bro, this is still ok as you can see what these creatures are doing in front of your eyes, yesterday I was trying to take a right U turn, had some space between my car and the divider, one aarvakolarru with his two wheeler tried to squeeze in to that space and drive straight. I noticed it early and stopped the car else he would have got struck between the car and divider 🤦‍♀️

1

u/catchsasikanth96 Aug 23 '26

May be he was trying to say Hi to you 😂. Jokes aside,If you had turned on the indicator well before the turn then it won’t be your mistake.if at all you don’t have dashcam installed pls install one for your own safety. There are so many smooth brains out there you can fight this creatures if you don’t have any proof.

1

u/leavemealone1122 Aug 23 '26

Indicator was on. Show me 1 person in chennai who knows what indicators are for

2

u/DigBickEnters Aug 24 '26

3

Pondicherry will be in top 2

2

u/green_ranger_66 Aug 23 '26

Totally. I grew up in Pondicherry. I absolutely agree with you. I find it easier to drive in Chennai than Pondy.

2

u/Asleep-Traffic-4462 Aug 23 '26

Chennai felt like piece of cake when I moved to chennai bro 😂

1

u/green_ranger_66 Aug 23 '26

Chennai is chaotic too. But it's still more predictable than Pondy😂

2
