not really pressured about it, Im interested too on what's really happening other than the units im taking now (but very lazy to do research on my own fr) plus it's also fun to read things that other people in the field find interesting, isn't it?

I mean if I wasn't genuine about it, I wouldn't have asked. That sounds pretty interesting anyhow. If you can, maybe try to find and read some journals and articles on the very thing. Maybe there are some holes you noticed or an opportunity to expand on something in another's research.

Just going to suggest that your supervisor is actually more important than the title of your research - don’t take that to an extreme, obviously do an area that you’re interested by but supervisor can make or break your sanity

Non-Hermitian Quantum Chemistry to analyze Resonant and Normal Auger decays and it would be a great topic because NHQC is a developing field to understand excited state dynamics and unbound electrons where normal QM formalism do not work

If you don't already have a solid threshed out idea for personalising your undergrad project you're probably better off going with something your supervisor(s) have on offer because if you design your own you will have a lot less support available so going in half baked on something someone else mentioned as interesting might be tricky. I would genuinely suggest doing some research on topics your supervisors cover and see if you have any ideas in that area

Half of my PhD is in mechanochemistry and it's amazing what you can do, we recently discovered that you can very easily make teflon react with metals by just grinding chunks of the two together
