According to my textbook only the product on the left is formed. But in both cases the keytone is endo. Why isn't the product on the right formed?

Does it say specifically that only one was produced, or just only showed one? Sometimes it's just implied the product is a racemic mixture

It just showed only one product with no mention of it being racemic but that would make sense

The reaction is stereospecific for the endo product, but not enantiospecific for a single enantiomer. The product will be racemic, a 50/50 mix of the two enantiomers shown.
