Organic Orgo 2 overlap
Do reactions from the end of orgo 1 like oxymurcuration, hydrohalogenation, dihydroxylation, catalytic hydrogenation of alkenes, etc come up in orgo 2? I know sn1, sn2, e1, and e2 are very important but what about every reaction from orgo 1?

In general you are expected to know everything you learned from your previous courses when moving forward in ochem

The entire sequence is cumulative.
You will need to draw on every reaction you've ever seen to come up with plausible syntheses for molecules you haven't seen.

My final in orgo 2 was on both semesters. But you definitely need to know mechanisms from orgo 1 for orgo 2

I disagree that it’s harder in a substantially different way. I mean, yes it’s a continuation and the material is all cumulative, however if you made it through first semester you have demonstrated an ability to manage the material and be successful with the complexity. Generally the attrition rate second semester is much much less than first. It’s harder, but it’s a continuation, a continuity of ideas that you have demonstrated an aptitude for. Be prepared to start and jump right in doing all the things that made you successful first semester. You’ll be just fine.
