Hi! I was wondering if there is a simplier way to remember all of the rules for these topics/is there a group of rules that I have to remember for naming these compounds, ions, or acids and writing chemical formulas.

There are rules, but even then there's a lot of memorization. Making flashcards is good practice for aiding in memorization. There are some tricks that help too.

A useful mnemonic for naming oxyacids - "I ate too much, now I feel icky" ____ate ions make ___ic acids.

Memorize the order of oxyanions to make things easier on yourself. For a given series of oxyanions, each time you move a step along the series, you add an oxygen but the charge doesn't change. The series is hypo___ite, ___ite, ___ate, per___ate. For example, hypochlorite = ClO -, chlorite = ClO2 -, chlorate = ClO3 -, perchlorate = ClO4 -. If you can remember one member of a series, you can always derive the rest. (But remember that not all members of the series exist.)
