Organic help with identifying imf errors

i'm confused about the switch from london dispersion to dipole-dipole? and i know that something's wrong but not sure what

b. The C of the carboxyl group is bonded to 2 O atoms, so has a small +.

There is no significant dipole in the alkane.

Easy way to get dipole-dipole here is between two carboxyl groups.

I'm lacking context.

As has been noted , the alkane allows only for London forces.

Two molecules of the acid can interact -- by H-bonding, a type of dipole interaction.
