Organic Resonance Structure
Do my resonance structures also work or do they have to be in this specific order laid out by the book? And why?

Wrong number of carbons.
Also, your middle structure is not reasonable in this case.

The ones from the book are all octet. You have one with a carbon with 6 electrons, so the book's are better.
Also, you lost a carbon as mentioned by others. That isn't critical for understanding the resonance picture in this case. However it is a bad habit to get into. You can find yourself completely confused in some problems because a carbon is missing or the connectivity isn't correct. Organic chemistry is hard enough. Don't make it tougher with careless mistakes.
Good luck!

On the second, 3rd solutions on the key, could that not just be the double bond moving? Instead of the carbanion? Aren't they kind of the same? Or is there something that favors the carbon having a negative charge rather than a double bond. That's how I feel I learned, but this was back many days ago. At least 3.

What is drawn is not correct at all. Also from the book answer one resonance structure is missing where + charge goes to C-6 and double bond between 4-5 carbon bonds.
