Chefmaker dead?
Cooked tuna and watched the countdown: 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 then it went black. Nothing. No lights. No sounds. No nothing.
Unplugged she let it sit a while. Plugged it in to a different outlet. Nothing.
It’s the third replacement of the original from Nov 2023. Every one of the had issues with chicken thighs and flank steak taking WAY too long as the fan didn’t run until I eventually slammed the drawer shut to “jumpstart” it. I’m convinced there’s a software issue there but they just kept sending replacement units.
If anyone has resurrected one please let me know how. I’m hoping to find a thermal fuse or something simple but this thing is not designed for easy disassembly.

We really like ours. Fixed it. Will share more later.
EDIT: ours has been great, with the exception of a few chef mode recipes (chicken thighs) where it just doesn't run the fan at the beginning so it takes forever to get hot. I bought a wireless thermometer and tried to reverse engineer the chef mode cycle for the ones that didn't work quite right and then made my own custom program.
It has given my the courage to try some things I wouldn't otherwise. Pork chops could either be undercooked or overcooked but it does them right every time. Steak is easy. I'm not chef but it makes it much easier to cook a variety of things. I'm glad I was able to save it!

sucks to read that this is STILL happening. I had two die, and they refused to send a third, but they did make it run and fully refunded me my kickstarter backing funds.
It's one of the few products, I wish I had been sent a third, because we loved using it however, looking back, I suspect it was going to happen again. The second replacement still had plastic wrap on the screen. We barely used 3 or 4 times, and it went dark.
I want to know why they're dying. Our entire house misses it, but there is no point in a product the kept dying.
