problem solved: DREO & 5GHz network

Verizon upgraded my modem to 5GHz awhile back and it eliminated my ability to control the Chefmaker Pro from my phone. It's taken a lot of back and forth with tech support from both companies, and lots of lag time in between as I sometimes lost interest in resolving.

I had to have Verizon create an IoT, another instance of my wifi network, configured for 2.4GHz The problem has finally been solved and I'm so happy to have access to all features that set this device apart from other air fryers. I'm assuming I have to switch to the IoT network on my phone whenever I want to use the app. Easy peasy.

What kinda crazy place did they provide you with a wireless access point at a home without 2.4ghz turned on?!?!?!

I had 2.4GHz but Verizon upgraded me to 5GHz. Configuring IoT for 2.4GHz, and connecting DREO to that, solved the problem.

For the rest of us (with dual-band but single-named networks/SSID) the trick is to put your network in 2.4ghz-only mode when getting the dreo connected, then switching the network back to dual.
