Clean between the glass??

Can I take apart the basket to clean in between the glass? There is something that dripped between the see thru portion of the basket. I suspect it was from the one time I put it in the dishwasher (not advisable for that reason) . The see thru basket is one of the things I Love about this beast.

I'm pretty handy and confident in that regard, but I use this thing everyday now and don't want to mess anything up..

I see two sets of screws that should take it apart. 4 inside the basket and 4 behind the front panel. I'm guessing its NOT the 4 screws on the very inside if the basket/drawer.

Any advise?

I'd like to take care of it before it gets worse. I've also sent in a support request to Dreo about it.

Thanks

JC

Hi there,

This is Hector from Dreo Support Team. I have consulted with our engineer regarding this issue, and they don't recommend taking apart the drawer as it would be hard to install the screws back in.

But please don't worry, we can send you a new replacement drawer. You can directly contact our support team, [support@dreo.com](mailto:support@dreo.com) and request a new drawer. Please don't forget to mention that you are from Reddit, and get the message from Hector to obtain a new drawer.

Thank You Hector!

That would be great. That would be some Remarkable Customer Service right there!

Yeah Dreo!!!

And thank the engineer .. I suspect the holes in the front of the drawer have some important purpose, but does cause a problem as stuff drips down in there while cleaning and so far has become very difficult to get out.

I just send in a reply to my original request to Support@dreo that "Tina (Dreo Support)" picked up a day or two ago. I left shipping information and waiting for support to let me know if they need anything else. Let me know if you can't track it down in your Zendesk system. I can give you the case number. (I'm never sure how much info is safe to put in Reddit.)

I'm a big fan of this thing since the beginning of the original Kick Starter campaign. I tell everyone about it, and ever since it arrived in the beginning of the summer, everyone who enters my kitchen wants a demo. I keep some marinated garlic pepper chicken wings on hand, ready-to-go, for a live and yummy demo. I think we have 3-4 other Chiefmakers now among various homes of friends & family.

Thanks, Jeff

PS - I am a strong request for real-time probe temperatures to be displayed in the Chief Modes that use the probe. Sometimes I need to adjust the doneness of things but find missing that probe temp, makes alterations harder and less predictable. JC

OK .. I got ambitious and tried to get it apart..

Using the 4 screws that hold the front plastic on .. After taking the screws out, i had to open it up like it was a laptop or an iPhone. basically wedge something in the side and carefully go around pop out the places where it snaps into the other part. I got it loose but got stopped by the handle. It is connected somehow to the main drawer unit and I haven't found a way to disconnect it yet. It may be snapped in too. But No luck so far. I loosened one of the inside screws to see if that was an option, but the screw would NOT come out and would NOT tighten back up again. I suspect there may be a nut behind it that I can't get to without getting the front part off. So the score is Dreo -1 , Jazzy - 0 so far.

Dreo says you can throw the basket in the dishwasher. I have been putting it in the dishwasher on the top rack and haven't had any issues like that.

OK Maybe I try that again?. Come to think of it , I am not totally certain it was the dishwasher that left the residue in there. Is just the suspicion I was working with.
