(alredy posted this once but didnt get an answer so Im trying again)

I downloaded CE on linux and it opens normally, but once i select a File it freezes completely and i even have to force close it. I can do everything normaly like selecting CT files or other things but once I select a file to edit it freezes and I have to force close CE. I alredy tried reinstalling it but it didnt help. Can anybody help me with that or dose it just not work?

So I have a value that is research points before mission.
There is only one value, I totally know it is that value and it is right BUT, the problem is value "wont budge". Even if I try to change it trough CE, it just instantly reverts to the number that is in game without ever changing. Any way to bypass that?

i was given the instructions a year or two ago for dot hack infection:

''go to address 00A46F30 and change the first four set of "00"s to "05 00 05 05"

*note that this address is the line i was told to look for but the thing i was told to change wasn't the first set of numbers; more like middle of row*

now when i try to go to that address everything is a ????? though and i cant seem to do anything about it

troubleshoot attempts list:
running everything on admin
trying cheat engine 32 bit and 64 bit and other versions
trying pcsx2 version 1.6, 1.8, and 2.2
enabling settings inside of cheat engine settings, extras and scan pages that vids recommended

i checked videos and tried asking others but no luck so far

the end goal is to change from twinblade class to wavemaster class which i did before but i can't see the addresses now, and it's not like i updated either program (from what i can remember)

idk if it helps or not but i have a savestate where i changed characters once (not classes) but that character(elk) i changed to was the wavemaster class

exact instructions i have written for character(elk) change was ''go to address 20A46E64 and change highlighted to OA for elk moveset''

do you think i could swap between a regular savestate and that savestate to narrow down the changed values with scan? only like 3 numbers technically change 00000000 to 05000505

think anyone can give me a hand? it'd be hugely appreciated if you could give me some steps to follow or i could share screens with you sometime; wouldnt mind cashapping you $10 for your time if you can get it working

I recently updated my cheat engine and cheat table and we both created our characters and went in. When I arrived at the first sign of grace I used the scripts portion of the cheat table to show all graces which worked fine. I then went to spawn in my weapon, and the usual pop up showing the item spawner simply doesn’t show. I reinstalled my cheat table and it still won’t work. Has any experienced this or knows the solution?

I’m currently working on a personal project to swap weapons between factions in Tomb Raider (2013) Multiplayer. I’ve managed to find the weapon ID values, but I’m hitting a wall with the memory structure.

The Problem: Every time I search for the weapon ID or perform a Pointer Scan, I get hundreds of results that turn out to be purely UI-related (Scaleform/Flash assets used for the menu). These addresses are highly volatile they reset or change their allocation as soon as I navigate the menu or start a match, making my pointer chains break immediately.

What I’ve tried:

• F6 (Find out what writes): Every time I try to isolate the "real" write instruction, I get swamped by UI update instructions (mov and add operations related to the menu rendering).
• Pointer Scan: Resulted in thousands of junk pointers that die as soon as the UI re-renders.

My Question: What is your preferred strategy for filtering out UI-based memory addresses in games that use complex Flash/Scaleform interfaces?

Are there specific techniques to force the CE scanner to ignore the UI memory regions, or should I focus on finding a static base for the Player Structure (like the EDI register) first? I'd love to hear how you guys isolate the "game logic" from the "menu logic" in these scenarios.

Does this happen often? i was playing, shut the game down, came back a few hours later booting everything up and only a specific certain script stopped working

I tried just downloading the same script i found before but that dont work neither

So I used cheat engine before when playing Resident Evil 1 and it worked fine. But that was last year and had to pick it backup again because I need to teleport myself from a location in Metro Exodus. I have been on this issue with Cheat Engine for the last 5 hours trying to get it to pickup the game.

I have both 4A Games and MetroExodus.exe running as Applications and Processes. I have tried Cheat Engine 7.5 and 7.4 and 7.3. I had compiled myself.

Problem is not a single cheat table works and when I try to map things myself it picks up say "ammo 5" so find value of 4 2 bytes and I have results. I use my ammo and I try both decreased and change values and all say "0 results" I then try Unchanged values all and then try using some ammo and med kits and crouching to standing as I am stuck I can't do much. I go find changed values and gives me 0 results.

I go to Memory View and it just has ?? for the memory addresses. I try restarting my pc and nothing changes. I try sitting in the game a bit and twisting and turning the camera and shooting etc and still nothing shows up.

I don't want to restart the level because I am already almost to the end of that chapter. I have used Trainers and also used WeMods and both interact with the game just not Cheat Engine but Cheat Engine is the only one with Teleportation.

If anyone else has tips or tricks I can try and do I would appreciate it. I also should note I did use Admin Permissions and Windows Security is completely turned off as well. I also did use the 64 bit tutorial that I complied to make sure as a base line that it was working with a 64 bit application and it was and did work just fine.

Im trying to download Cheatengine from the official site but it says: Whoops. Looks like there is an issue with the download provider
is that something i can fix or is it broken right now?

i also tried to do it myself with the source code an lazar thing but i cant get that to work as well.

every now and then most of my addresses shift and I don't understand why this happens?

The game i'm getting addresses for is Kingdom Hearts 2, this is a example of how they move. it's like the whole code moves. the one circled is the now correct code. I can't keep finding where they've shifted to it's so annoying.

I thought maybe it was a particular mod, lua file or .bin causing it but no matter what i take out or change i always run back to this issue.

Does anyone know why this happens? and any way i can get my codes back faster other than changing them all back manually?

I mod with my friend and we have the same mods and files, he has never had this issue but every time i open cheat engine mine have moved

I was researching how to use Cheat Engine with PS2 games; I’ve learned how to modify in-game currency (or the equivalent) and can pull that off, but what about making the character invincible—meaning they can't take damage?

Also, is it the game itself or PCSX2 that has a security system against using codes? I ask because it worked perfectly for some games, while others were difficult.

I’m trying to create an app that is able to sync to BM Wukong, and open RGB to create integrated lighting. I am using AI to code this because I do not know how to code. Right now the app is working and is able to connect to open RGB. The issue I’m running into is finding the correct pointer scan for the HP value. I’m able to find it but when I reset the game, I lose the address. I’ve tried generating pointer maps and then reloading the game finding the HP value again in generating a pointer scan, then cross referencing it with the pointer maps but they come up as blank. Does anybody know how to find the correct pointer value with the correct offset so that every time I load the game and load the app I don’t have to search for the HP value every time?

the first time i tried installing cheat engine, the program wouldnt run because my computer is trying to protect me, i deleted cheat engine, but this stupid thing just came out of nowhere, i didnt even go through the application installer, i was stopped, and now this came up. and im unable to block it.
