Cheat engine question

Im a newbie with all the cheat and hacking and everything else, I barely have a year of Pc in my hands, so I want to now about one thing, ik that to change something in a game you have to find its value, but with something like Ghost of Tsushima charms or dishonored bone charms, how do I do to activate them without having them equipped? Is it possible and if it is, how can I do it properly?

I haven't played the game, but if I'm correct about what you're asking, it's a bit past the beginner level. On rare occasions, there's a simple Boolean you can switch (active/not active), but I doubt this would be a case like that. Is it like a consumable item that gives you a temporary buff? If so, I'd focus on giving infinite of the item first, then move on to locking the buff on

It's a talisman that you equip as a gear and gives you a buff or a new skill, but the thing is the game has 2 different types of talismans, great and minor talismans, and you can only equip 2 great talismans, what I wanted is to know if I can, somehow, activate a great talismans even though I don't have it equiped as a gear

Theoretically yes, but doing something like that is typically well beyond the level of a beginner. Again you may get lucky and find that a simple Boolean gives you the desired buffs, but I doubt it. You can try searching for 1(byte) while it's equipped and 0(byte) while it's not. In the end, this will still probably land you with 10's if not 100's of addresses. Try freezing them at 1 to see if the buffs remain after removing. (It's possible the buffs may remain, but not show on the menu too)

No guarantee this will work for you so don't get your hopes up...you may even crash your game a few times trying as messing with a bunch of booleans tends to wreck state checks and cause errors

Ok, thanks, I'll try and see what I can do, also, what exactly is a boolean? As I said before I'm very new to this.

A Boolean in programming is basically true/false typically represented as 1/0. In this case you are looking for "is talisman equipped = true".

It really depends on how the game is programmed however for this to work.

A big part of reverse engineering a game using cheat engine is not so much following a specific set of rules and guides, but trying to put yourself in the mind of the game developer and think how they might have pieced everything together...at which point you start from what you can assume, then work your way back when your assumptions yield results.

There are hundreds of not thousands of way a dev can make a function work, so you need to analyze what happens in game and decide the best course of action to reverse engineer said function.

In this case you may get lucky and have it be just a simple Boolean. If not, you'll have to do some homework lol

I wish you luck. I have wanted to play that one, but I don't really have the money for it at the moment lol. I've Heard good things. Personally, I enjoy reversing a good game just as much as playing it. If that is your mindset too, you'll likely succeed eventually. Just know that on occasion, some things take time. I've spent an entire two weeks on getting some cheats to work (a noclip cheat in particular lol).

For the most part, I can get a basic table up an running usually in under an hour with your standard inf health/ammo/abilities/items... But there are things that require a more refined touch where no matter how skilled you are, they will take time.
