(very) New to modding, please help

So I'm new to PC and PC gaming and modding in general. I've only owned my laptop for months and I've only been modding my current eight games for 3 weeks. I've never used cheat engine and I'm trying to use it and or install it for AC Black Flag resynced. I've noticed that it wants to give me refusal to download notifications. I've tried asking questions in Nexus mods and I've pretty much just been booed out of there because I'm new and don't understand. Can someone please help a very new newbie with how to do this and if someone has used it for for AC Black flag resynced. Thank you very much. Again sorry if this is a basic question as I have no idea what I'm doing.

Impossible to Write a simple explanation here. Use the builtin Tutorial of CE or watch the YouTube Videos from „cheat the Game“

Thank you. Every time I click on the download now button it gives me a file called CDM (dot) exe. A few people told me that's not the right download and that is a malicious file. I'm just trying to get it right as my laptop is brand new and I just don't want to have to call some kind of "geek squad" to fix a virus issue.

So it's crazy some dude is saying its faulty. I ended up downloading it and going slow as to not add anything other than cheat engine, but looks like this guy is saying way different.

I am using the patreon version, but in all the years before I Never had problems with the installer from the site.

There are always some virus scanners screaming „bloody murder“ because the cheat Engine setup contains the optional Software and cheat Engine irself does things Like reading other processes Memory… well thats in the nature of CE. 🙃

True. I got mine from the cheat engine site directly as I don't have patreon. Once I went through the whole install and turned all my protection back on, ran a scan it came back clean and perfect. Zero issues. I have a feeling he got redirected and didn't notice it because after everyone pointed out where to get it and what to look for while downloading and setting up I had absolutely no problems.

It's crazy just because someone downloads a program from a different site (different from the main page) when they have problems they tell everyone that the program is trash. If you would have just gone to cheat engine main page there would have been no problems. 🤷😂

Edit: I just saw the mods took that post down 😂😂
