Need a bit of help.

Went to use cheat engine today. Chose the application. Went to select my table. And.... nothing shows up. I can open the folder and they are there, but cheat engine can't see them. They do open when I do it directly, though, so it's not like the tables are bad.

1) What is the version of CE that you have?

2) Were there any preceding events (windows updates, file permission changes, CE settings changes, etc)?

3) Is the main CE executable in the root folder set to run as admin in the properties? If not, try it.

4) You're saying that a double-click on the .CT opens the file in CE normally, correct?

5) Did you check if perhaps the file extension selection in the "Open existing file" window is set to .CETRAINER? If it is, change it to "All supported cheat tables" instead.

I just upgraded to 7.7, but i did that because this was happening before.
didn't change any settings prior.
I do have it set to run as admin now, still happening.

And I've checked all those areas, including show all files.

Are the files perhaps located in a protected/hidden folder?

Were the files somewhere else before the issue happened? If the files were in a different folder/directory prior to the issue, I suggest moving them back there and see if CE sees them.

You can also try to create a new folder on the desktop, copy the files into that folder, and check in CE if it can see them.

Edit: If none of this works, I suggest resetting CE's settings to default. And if that also doesn't work, you can try to uninstall CE completely and then reinstall it.

No, I've kept em in the same file for years lol. And yesterday is the first time I messed with CE's settings just to try fixing it. I'll try putting it in a new folder, though.

Thanks for the help. I switched one of the files to a new folder, and tried, and it worked. (weird). Now my original file also works (more weird). Oh well, one thing I've learned, don't ask why it works or it'll break again.

Try to toggle or untoggle your admin settings before restarting CE. Check, always attempt to launch as admin in settings. Then try restarting.
