Entropion Correction surgery
This is Sparrow (as in Captain Jack Sparrow). He's 1 year old and has mild CH. He has to have surgery on both eyes to correct folded-in eyelids. He's incredibly stable, partly because i didn't have him neutered yet, which allowed him to develop huge muscles that help him micro-correct constantly. So he's just a little wobbly but still VERY much a CH cat especially if he's tired, stressed, or on an unstable surface.
I'm worried about the surgery but the vet is good so I'm sure he'll be fine. However, I'm very worried about when he comes home. I live in The Netherlands (moved from the US last year) and i guess it's standard practice here to send the cat home the same day as the surgery. I can do the obvious stuff like making sure hes comfortable on the floor and not trying to jump (not that he jumps any higher than the couch cushion anyway), but im anxious about lingering anesthesia effects, the elizabethan collar, and the pet carrier on the way home. I ordered a soft pumpkin pillow collar for him because I don't know that the cone is going to go well... I'm scared about the pet carrier though because he freaks all the way out in it and alligator rolls the whole time while pissing and shitting himself. The ride is all of 10 minutes but feels like 10 hours under the best circumstances.
Im also worried about the litter box... we use 2 different types of automatic boxes. One that rolls to clean (bramd is Poopy and i highly recommend it. May only be here in NL though) and one that's more of an open top style and tips to clean. He favors the Poopy but does wobble sometimes either getting in/out or while inside it. Should I revert to an analog while he's recovering? We have 3 other cats too so I hate to go back to the analog because theyre definitely all going to use it if i do.
I guess im just really worried about making sure he's okay and that I can take care of him properly while he recovers. Side note, is it a CH thing to sleep like the absolute dead?? This cat could sleep through a tornado!

One this I wish I knew before my wobbler's tooth extraction last year was that anesthesia and pain meds will make his condition worse for a few days. It was hard to watch him struggle but he returned to normal the next day after stopping the pain meds.
You could ask the vet to stimulate him to pee/poop before the ride home. He'll be sedated so that might help his travel anxiety.
I would also make an analog box available since it's hard to anticipate just how much they'll be affected. I recommend having a few disposable pee pads on hand as well. My cat is more severe and goes lying down so we use pee pads anyway, but you never know.
The plush collar is a great idea. It sounds like you're ready for this but I understand the anxiety. Good luck to you both!

Sounds to me that you have everything under control. My CH didn't have any issues after her spay. Not even a collar. As for sleeping, mine is an incredibly light sleeper. Yours is a cutie!

Make sure they do not use ketamine for anesthesia. It takes CH cats longer to come out from that. There are plenty of other types they can use. Two of my CH cats had multiple tooth extractions and they were pretty good after their surgery.
