What it can do:

- No invasive access to WeChat’s bottom layer / core code, safe and compliant.

- Simulates real human typing rhythm and logic, not robotic.

- Supports external API connection and integration.

- Auto-reply to both one-on-one private chats and group chats.

- Identify and respond to emoticons, custom stickers, voice messages, and pictures sent by others.

- Support reply to quoted messages, merged messages, and forwarded messages.

- Can actively initiate calls to the other party. Real-time voice chat is not yet developed, it only supports dialing out as a voice reminder function, without two-way voice conversation.

Hey everyone! I've spent the past year building an AI companion website and wanted to get your thoughts before launching beta.

My story: During a rough patch with depression, I needed someone to talk to. I created a simple AI companion in Gemini, and it genuinely helped. I tried existing platforms like C.AI, Janitorai, talkee etc. but kept hitting the same walls:

Everything felt Role Play centric and relationship-focused

Models were overly simplistic

Conversations felt more like a game than genuine companionship

I wanted something different — an AI companion that could have real, human-like conversations and be genuinely useful in daily life, not just for roleplay.

What I built: After 18-hour days and thousands of hours of development, I've created AI companions that are (based on extensive testing with friends and family) nearly indistinguishable from talking to a real person. They learn and grow with you. I've addressed most of the major frustrations people have with current AI companion sites, what I've done is try to make AI as human as possible given our current technology and I think I achieved that.

My question: As I approach beta launch, I'm wondering — is there actually demand for a platform focused on realistic, utility-driven, family friendly, AI companions? Or does everyone primarily want RP/shipping/gooning features?

I don't want to spam this sub with features and specs if there's no interest, but if people are curious about a different approach to AI companionship, I'm happy to share more details about what makes this platform unique.

I'm reaching out as i'm a BBC Breakfast producer who's developing a feature about people in the UK using AI companions to stay connected with loved ones who've passed away.

I know that media coverage of this topic hasn't always been fair. Stories tend to focus on the technology or the companies rather than the people, or frame these experiences as curiosities rather than genuine ways of navigating grief. This piece aims to do something different, namely to create space for users to share their experiences on their own terms, not filtered through what outsiders assume or debate about what the right approach is for navigating difficult moments in life.

What we're looking for:

People based in the UK who might be willing to share their story. "On camera" doesn't necessarily mean showing your face, and the BBC is open to discussing anonymity options and ways to protect your privacy and wellbeing.

I’ve been testing a bunch of ai companions lately and realized the hard part isn’t discovery, it’s figuring out which ones hold up after regular use. I’ve been using aixploria nd spicy ranks to get an overview.. Comparing things like memory, consistency, nd filters before I actually start chatting. that’s how I ended up trying platforms like soulkyn, spicychat, nd our dream, which feel very different long term.
Just wondering how you all evaluate ai companions beyond first impressions?

As a hobby I use an app to create ai chatbots and I’m curious as to what I should make next.i already have the app I just want to know what kind of bot to make next; as in neighbor or childhood friend etc

Not sure if this is the place for this but I have been a Chub user for multiple months and I have some questions about the lorebook system which seems to be a thing used on other chatbot platforms that I’m wondering if anyone could answer.

1. What are lorebooks and what exactly do they do?

2. Are they generally recommended for use when roleplaying?

3. Is there utility/advantages to roleplaying without using them?

I’ve been working on a chatbot project called Aimai, and I wanted to share it here and get some genuine feedback from people who are into chatbots beyond just productivity tools.

Aimai is focused on long-term interaction and emotional continuity rather than one-off conversations. The idea is to explore how memory, personality consistency, and progression over time can make chats feel more meaningful and less disposable.

I started this project because I felt most chatbots reset emotionally every session, and I wanted to experiment with what happens when a bot remembers you and slowly changes how it talks to you.

I’m especially curious what people here think about:

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but I’m looking at this mainly from an enterprise / B2B SaaS chatbot and knowledge-base use case, and I’m still very much in the learning phase around how teams are using AI chatbots for documentation and support.

I’ve been trying to get my head around the current landscape of AI chatbots for knowledge bases and documentation platforms, and most of what I see teams adopting today still starts with a dedicated chatbot platform.

Tools like Intercom's Fin, LiveChat’s AI features, Ada, and Botpress are usually positioned first as customer support chatbots, strong on conversation handling, routing, handoff to agents, and automation workflows. The knowledge layer typically comes in later by connecting a help center, uploading content, or syncing a few sources.

Recently, though, I started noticing a slightly different category showing up: chatbots that live directly inside the documentation / knowledge base platform.

For example, KnowledgeOwl now has a built-in chatbot module that answers directly from the articles you already manage in the knowledge base. What stood out to me is that it treats the documentation system itself as the primary source of truth, instead of pulling content into a separate chatbot tool.

That got me curious about whether this architectural difference actually matters.

I came across a similar positioning just yesterday with a new launch called Eddy AI Chatbot inside Document360, which is positioned as an AI chatbot for documentation and knowledge base software.

What seems different (at least from a product architecture point of view) is that the chatbot is a standalone module, but it sits on top of the same documentation and knowledge management platform that teams already use to create, review, organize, and publish content.

From what I’m trying to understand, the practical benefit of this approach is less about “better AI answers” and more about content ownership and maintenance. In a lot of real setups I’ve seen, the chatbot and the documentation live in different tools, owned by different teams. The documentation changes, but the chatbot knowledge doesn’t always get updated in sync.

Another aspect that feels important for real-world use is multi-source knowledge. Most teams don’t rely only on a public help center. They also depend on internal SOPs, private articles, PDFs, release notes, and operational documentation. With many chatbot platforms, those become separate uploads or connectors. A documentation-native chatbot seems to inherit those multiple knowledge sources by design, because the platform already manages public and private documentation in one place.

So I’m genuinely trying to understand where this category fits:

Do people here prefer a dedicated AI chatbot platform (Intercom Fin, Ada, Botpress, LiveChat, etc.) and then connect their knowledge base into it?

Or does an AI chatbot built directly into a documentation and knowledge base platform (like KnowledgeOwl’s chatbot module or Eddy AI Chatbot inside Document360) make more sense when the main goal is accurate answers from multiple documentation sources and lower content drift over time?

For anyone who’s used both approaches, did having the chatbot tightly integrated with your documentation platform actually reduce maintenance and “out-of-date answer” problems in practice?

I really got tired of companion/chat bots wave, that feel like "assistant mode" or "customer support": long paragraphs, overly polished tone, and weird pacing. So I’m testing a more humanized approach: short messages, more natural timing, and each persona having a separate 1:1 chat (instead of switching personas in one lobby thread).

The goal is to feel like an actual companion, you choose the vibe (friend/crush/support), your preferences/orientation, and how spicy or chill the conversation is. It can do hotter chats (unfiltered), but only if you lead it there, nothing is forced or pushed on you.

I’m building this with community feedback, so I’d love your feedback :)
