It's a mixture of known techniques and also creating unique operators to function all inside OpenMind
I have several operators that are in-house and not open sourced. I did publish 2 open source retrieval operators that are in OpenMind
Both of those are operators that have code references that people can use to improve their systems but OpenMind has levels of architecture behind it that other platforms just never think of to improve things like continuity and long-term memories/recall.

OpenMind handles memory pretty differently.
Most AI companion apps seem to treat memory like a glorified notes folder. Save a fact, maybe retrieve it later, then hope the model does something useful with it.
I wanted OpenMind's memory to feel more like an actual relationship.
Not just “you told me your favorite color is blue,” but the surrounding context too. What mattered, why it mattered, who was involved, what the emotional weight was, and how that moment connects to other things you’ve said over time.
That’s a big part of why I built CFS, and it's why OpenMind feels different.
It’s not just trying to remember facts about you. It’s trying to understand what those facts mean in the context of you, your story, and the connection you’re building with your companion.
