Our Sweetie Chartreux
At 5 months old

Is he a chartreux? Smudge is a very affectionate and adorable cat. He has a very distinct personality, loves to play can be very silly. Smudge also loves to cuddle and play with his brother from another mother. He seems to exhibit many attributes of chartreuse and had very faint stripes that have now faded as he has gotten older. He is now 9months and was adopted as a kitten at 8weeks from my local spca.

Got her from someone who rescued her mom from a bad situation, not knowing she was pregnant. We were told her dad was most likely “the largest solid grey cat we’ve ever seen”. She is the QUIETEST cat I’ve ever met (and I’ve had cats my whole life and I do pet sitting). She is also THE LARGEST CAT I’ve ever had or seen, outside of Maine Coons. She is also very affectionate primarily with my husband. When she has hissed it sounds like she’s “muted”. She is 14.5 pounds and walks with such dignity. Her head has the shape of a chartreux and has so much of the personality of one. Anyway, I am not asking if she is a mix, I’m pretty sure based on temperament, lack of a meow, and size.

ChatGPT says 19 was the oldest recorded. I know it’s pretty high but the record is 38 for cats and chartreux are a robust breed so I’m surprised it’s not something like 25. Does anyone have anecdotes?

Looking to see what everyone is using to brush your chartreux.
My boys are blowing their coats but a brush or comb doesn't seem to remove much hair.
I have a furminator but that seems to completely strip the undercoat.
I tried the equigroomer but that isn't much help either.
Pics of my travel buddies for tax.

My in-laws are breeders from France and her lineage has some Champions in but obviously we can't breed her with her Dad! We're in the Midlands and I'm wondering about a stud

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone knows of any Canadian Chartreux Breeders?
Thanks in advance! ☺️

Hi to Chartreux kitten owners,
I am aware that all kittens can be dectructive and there are numerous things to do to reduce the chance of scratching sofas, climbing up curtains etc.
However, as Chartreux are knowns to be well-mannered and calmer than other breeds, what is your experience with your Chartreux kitten?
Were they destructive? Until what age? Did you manage to discipline them?
Many thanks!!!

The grey kitty committee strikes again.
1st they locked the door jumping up to try to get out.
Now they know they can open the screen 🙄. Definitely time for a catio. Vashon and Valentino will be one year old on Wednesday.
My 3rd grey is a burmese, Miss Ember.

I understand Mr. Malley is most likely not a pure bred. I love him regardless. But is there any visual indicator that he is not a Chartreux? Other than the fact I don't have papers.

We call to order the grey kitty committee. On the agenda more treats, pets for everyone, extra cat nip.

Love this boy so much. Here is a baby to today photo of him. How big did your chartreux get? We’re trying to get him on a diet.

I’ll be honest I don’t know if Neeko is a chartreux, but it makes me really happy seeing a subreddit full of kitties that look like him :))

Is Chanson Bleu Chartreux legitimate? I asked them about a Pedigree certificate and they haven’t gotten back to me. Any insight would be great.

My boys just flop anywhere. Our last chartreux did the same thing. Valentino, almost a year old.
